I don't know why... tears must come out every time the sha la la song is played....This song really makes me feel nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood more than 50 years ago. With my beloved mother, late father and siblings. We grew up with this song and it is one of the things that strengthens the brotherhood between us until now.

In 2024 and approaching 60, it's hard to find any yesterdays once more, like it was before 😢

Now at 68, this 'oldies' song reminds me of the "simple, good times": no cell phones, no computers, no wars, no climate change. Just relaxing in the sun (without sunscreen!) and swimming in a fresh, clean, clear lake, a time of my youth, a time of innocence. How I wish I could go back to those great days and nights, listening to the sounds of the '70's on the radio! 🥰 😊 😍

Happy 50th anniversary to this great song, it was released around this time in 1973!(It’s June 2023 as I post my comment.) Such a calming, soothing voice the late Karen Carpenter had; may she RIP. :) And may this song of hers live on for yet another 50 years!!!

When I was young I'd listen to the radio Waitin' for my favorite songs When they played I'd sing along It made me smile. Those were such happy times And not so long ago How I wondered where they'd gone But they're back again Just like a long lost friend All the songs I loved so well. When they get to the part Where he's breakin' her heart It can really make me cry Just like before It's yesterday once more. It was songs of love that I would sing to then And I'd memorize each word Those old melodies Still sound so good to me As they melt the years away.
