Hemanth khureshi His penis was flaccid and devoid of blood and his naked body was in the freezing cold, of course his penis was going to look pathetic, but when the situation is different it can give a whole different perspective. Plus Tormund was just messing with him since Jon looked so miserable.

This is one of the most important developmental scenes for Jon in my opinion. He started to realize Wildlings were people just like him, and there was little logic to their enduring conflict. While he later would defend Castle Black against the Wildling attack, I think Ygritte's pointed question of why his people were fighting hers made him start to reevaluate the dominant thinking of the time.
@viniciussardenberg706
@viniciussardenberg706 2 жыл бұрын
Problem is that the widlings are people but they're very different people, they're basically the Dothraki of the north without horses, Letting them go south might be possible, but in a slow, filtered way otherwise they'd clash with the rest of the peoples in westeros and there would be war, wherever they went and had settlements the same would take place, Hence the need to Keep them behind the wall, A united westeros with strong purpose and solid chain of command under a fair and strong Leader could accomplish such a task, but the westeros that is there is torn apart by greed, Lust, spite and scheming, basically falling apart under it's own weight, they barely can keep themselves off each other's throats, the best that'd come of the widlings's crossing'd be to give them a new enemy to unite against, and once they're done they go back to fighting each other.
@aslyn8943
@aslyn8943 2 жыл бұрын
@@viniciussardenberg706 Exactly why it worked when Jon let them through the Wall: Westeros was already tearing itself apart, so introducing a few thousand more people probably didn't nearly as much as it might have done in a time of peace.
@viniciussardenberg706
@viniciussardenberg706 2 жыл бұрын
@@aslyn8943 ah no, it aggravated the problem, in luck for them the Long night is there to be a rally cry, but just think of that not being true and the only thing there being the wildlings, they'd become a huge problem to the northeners and pawns in the games of people like Rose bolton then become the new Greyjoys ignored until they become a pain in the butt for too long, then squashed then ignored again.

The conflict between the wildlings and the northeners stems from the fact that the wildlings raid northern lands and attack northerners, the nights watch itself is largely of northern descent and supported mostly by the north The northerners aren't the ones raiding wildling lands, it's the other way around, the wildlings hate the northerners for the wall and for being kneelers, while the northerners hate the wildlings for being savages and raiders The northerners can't accommodate the wildlings in the north and the wildlings would never take up northern ways of life anyway, there's no option other than conflict The wildlings, apart from being savages, veiw themselves as victims of historical injustice, and the northerners veiw wildlings as a menace to their lives The whole conflict between the two groups is extremely justified and understandable, ygritte is just a crybaby who thinks her ppl can raid the north bcuz thousands of years ago they used to shit there and denies the northerners their right to their land

While it is up in the air, it's worth noting that Eddard Stark never actually describes him as his 'son' in the books. While talking about his birth, he refers to him as his blood. It's also hinted at a lot of places that Eddard isn't Jon's real father.

That face when the writers _think_ the other character made a good comeback and shut you up even though you could've easily fired back with, say, "because you attack us and kidnap our people". Yes. One of the points is; while he being decent thinks its very dishonorable to rape a female prisoner (aside of his oath Black Watch oath), she is used to the culture where they do steal future wives. Essentially, kidnap them. They are not supposed to RAPE them once stolen, but its not difficult to imagine the first sex isnt always entirely voluntary... So, as he didnt killed her at once, she of course expected him to have sex with her. Surely appreciating he didnt do a raw rape, but she expected him to make sex.

Winston Smith Yeah, I'm not from the UK either but I watch a good amount of British tv so I can differentiate the accents quite well. The Northern accent usually doesn't pronounce the t's or r's much. That's just something I've noticed.
@VVinstonSmit
@VVinstonSmit 8 жыл бұрын
Katherine Kuznetsov If I'm not wrong british generally do not pronounce final syllables "r" (phenomenon known as non-rothic), but that's fine, the problem is with "t", while Americans tend to pronounce it basically like a "d" or an "r" for example in "water" or "battle", British pronounce it sometimes pretty loudly like in those previous words, and other times they do not pronounce it at all like in this case, so it is pretty confusing.
@queenofthorns6746
@queenofthorns6746 8 жыл бұрын
Winston Smith Yeah, that's correct. The British really pronounce their t's in words like butter. Just like you said, Americans tend to pronounce t's like d's.

Song of fire and ice refers to the duality of the two seasons that dictate the land, the winter, and the summer, the two primary forces that are present in the plot, the followers of R'hllor the lord of lights, and the iceland walking dead of the "Great Other" frozen diety.

Essentially, we know several things: 1) Eddard is an honorable man, who owed a promise to his sister Lyanna. 2) Lyanna died from blood loss. 3) Rhaegar stole Lyanna after giving her his favor at a tourney. We conclude: Rhaegar loved Lyanna and she willingly or no was kidnapped and got preggo with Jon whom then was born as Ned arrived to rescue her at the Tower of Joy. Theoretically. Seriously, Ned is too uncompromising to father a bastard, he'd never forgive himself. All theory, of course.

its very possible that he is Rhaegar and Lyanna's child, plus the fact that Jon looks almost identical to what Ned look like at that age plus the strong hint at that he is a targaryen would leave Lyanna the only possible blood relation of Neds capable of also producing a targaryen, again this isnt really a spoiler as it is only a theory, a theory thats been around since the first book, that a large percentage of Martin's readers believe

This may have been the first time in history 2 people- a crow and a wildling had this debate 1 on 1. And it ended with the crow in silence when the wildling asked him a very simple question he couldn't answer: why? I find it quite interesting this argument between 2 people witnessed by no one else turned out to have probably the most influence on major future events, and Jon making all the decisions he did with regards to the Wildlings, because he couldn't find any real logic or reason for the conflict between them

Actually that theory makes sense...the kings guard was supposed to protect the Royal family then why would Reghar send three of the best to protect Lynna..Ned mentions this when he is in prison and also Cat says Ned after returning from the South came back with Jon..the Rebellion ended with the fall of Kings Landing...but then again this is all speculation..and if I gave away any spoilers I am sorry

By reading the comments i realized how he was being builded to become Azhor Ahai (since before he was born, **cof cof Bloodraven!** ), the Dragon from the South created and Instilled with good values from the North gets himself in a conflict between peoples and later the supernatural, and try to solve everything pacifically. You can say it's all a training ground for him to become the "perfect" or a great leader. And seeing him making a bunch of mistakes and being weak makes his growth all the more special, gives him personal responsability and the choice to actually continue on and become this type of person.

The Theory is that Jon's father is Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark is his mother. Remember when Jon was going to the wall, and Ned Stark said to him "You might not have my name, but you have my blood" he never says "You are my son" which would mean Jon has Stark blood, possibly Lyanna Stark's Blood. Remember, Lyanna's last words were "Promise Me Ned" but we never hear what the promise was.... was it that Lyanna already had Jon, and Ned just lied to protect his sister?
