Wow! Wow! How come this video has been on KZfaq for 10 years and I just found it? This tenor possesses a most beautiful “squillo” there is. I bet his voice travels very well in any theater, even in those with poor acustics.

Great lyric, maybe the greatest, how proud and how grand, voice that penetrates, so so touching, his artistry is beyond his age. Speaks non italian nor french, but he memorizes all... 24K Gold inlay, and shining...

Actually he speaks italian, maybe the others too. I watched a master clas video, he was teaching in italian. And yeah...he us trully good.

@@jcleivaamoros I am very sorry, I did not make it clear, I was referring to his starting years, that was probably in 2009, when he was graduate student at Austra, and doing a lot of competitions within a year. He then only spoke 3 sentences, but he memorized the whole thing, 10 operas a year. Was not fortunate at Shanghai at all, eventually curve back to the origin of opera from Japan to Europe!!! a beautiful story not typical of those big "stars" which all from the same school either shanghai or Beijing.

Beautiful sound, Great High "C"and sensitive singer. But the true test is how does he sound in a full sized opera house. The ones who make it don't always have the prettiest voices.

Jerry Hadley and Jhon Ken Nuzzo are my favorite tenors. They are worldwide tenors. After I listened to their voices,I heard this aria. He really amazed me. He is excellent. He perfectly knows how to sing Puccini`s arias. And his beautifull voice is not a asian voice. I wonder how he is tall. I guess he doesn`t have a good frame. I wonder who his teacher is. I`m curious about this tnnor.But I`m a little disappointed at his high note of 3:46 . Anyway,he must be a great tnnor.

He is not tall, not handsome, not gigantic. He just sings. Jerry Hadley be fine tenor. I love Neil Schicoff's ringing voice.

Beautiful voice, Reduce your power on high notes, will be fantastic. THINK, singing MESSA VOCE ! Most of the time, Enrico Caruso doesn't sing with 100% of his power but with massa voce techniques, so he is best tenor among all humans. sing

It's recommended that this young tenor,, who is talented, listen to DINO BORGIOLI.. He needs to control the voice without pushing then he would retain his bottom notes.

Beautiful lyric tone. This man can sing and act. Would he be "big enough" to sing in perfomance with a full orchestra. He looks like he's about the size of a jockey.

Additionally, most orchestral arrangements of this piece are usually pretty light too anyway. So far I have only heard one recording where the orchestra actually drowned out the singer. You'd be surprised. It was actually Plácido Domingo! Now, I can say it wasn't because his voice wasn't strong enough to cut through. I think someone actually screwed up the production and engineering process if you ask me.

Physical size and vocal size don't always correspond. Many of the "great Italian tenors" of the distant past were short men. Plus, as Pat Neavin points out, this isn't a very heavily orchestrated aria.

You know if u cant sing the high c in this aria theres no point of singing it the high point of this aria and what makes it complete is singing "LA SPERANZA" with a complete and noticeable high c if u cant do it right dont do it at all

I would have to disagree actually. I don't think he will ever be hired to sing Puccini. But by all means, put the famous aria in your recital and sing it with your beautiful voice! Well done!

we will see, do not count his performance at China National Opera, rather watch him singing at Milan and Met Opera, etc. He is not Spinto heavy tenor, perfect for Lyric roles...

I agree. Rodolfo as an entire role is far less lyrical than many people seem to think. His voice is propably a better fit for Mozart and Rossini/Donizetti/duce (Rigoletto). But this Aria by itself should absolutely be in his recital repertoire!

wonderful top . Must lose the pop tone in the lower end and middle. Also get rid of the chirpy sound that sneaks in here and there. Over all a solid tenor voice. Great!

@@tangruitong948 any real listeners and opera goer will know, some just chase the game of high notes like sports... those superficial stuff be less in china pretty soon, Remember it has been called American Operatic singing style for (western operatic) and that translation is still all over china even today!
