It’s compulsory for kids in Ontario, from 4 grade to 10 grade to learn French. I live next to Quebec so I’ve been learning French since i was 4, even though I’m from Ontario.

i only had mandatory french in elementary school (but i went to the english part of a french immersion school so idk) but i think its a pretty common canadian past time to try to read the french on packaging, especially if you dont speak it. plus, even tho i cant speak french worth shit, i can understand and read a decent amount of it
