@@khalez1471 true. Kirk from Metallica can’t do all that but how many hit songs do Metallica have. End of story. Ability is only a fraction of making good music. Most super talented guitarist can’t write a hit tune for the life of them.

@@alesstysanchez1614 metallica is almost all james and lars, kirk barely wrote stuff, even all the rythm is recorded by james. Sales don't mean anything, jay.z makes money more than metallica, is he better than metallica? And malmsteen wrote many many good riffs and solos, it's just you don't know them. metallica after the black album is nothing but generic soft mainstream crap and most of their audience are metal wannabes who have no clue. Malmsteen came with a new way to play the guitar. End of story.

Followed Malmsteen since the 80's. What amazes me most about his playing is not what he plays, but HOW he plays. Sitting here nonchalant in a guitar store he plays effortlessly with the same fire and energetic stamina as if it was live and sweaty on summer night on a 102 degree stage!
@jordandangelo180
@jordandangelo180 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s completely effortless. I saw him live. The dude barely even picks and the whole show he was more focused on his stage presence than his playing and he absolutely ripped through like 50 Marshall Plexi heads in a small club for 2 hours lol and couple of played 5 more hours I’m sure. It was so loud I couldn’t hear for 3 days but it sure was awesome. His sweeping is almost unmatched and it’s so effortless.

@@rushpittsburgh4 His hearing is pretty much gone after years of standing in front of dozens of cranked Plexi's. And since he's started to mix his albums himself they sound like shit too. Too big of an ego to admit he needs a producer for his albums and should listen to his sound guys on stage... Still plays great though and he still writes catchy tunes. If you listen to old albums or live shows his tone was absolutely fantastic, pretty much what I try to get out of my amps, kinda like Hendrix but more sustain yet still very clean and nuanced. Basically put a Plexi through an attenuator (if you have neighbors and want to keep your hearing) and push it with an overdrive pedal, mids and treble most of the way up and bass rolled back a little.
