So the general consensus on the story of this is that the five girls (Gahyeon, Yoohyeon, Dami, Siyeon and SuA) have their minds stuck in a dream/VR-world (so Gahyeon on the chair in that wasteland, Yoohyeon in the school building, Dami in a treasure room, Siyeon in some type of surveillance room, SuA chained). JiU somehow managed to get out of hers (and hers is the one with all of them running on that mountaintop) by realising she can look into the sun with no issues (which is one way to find out if you are dreaming or awake). A way to free them is by shooting them with the gun that has only 5 charges. It is unclear whether JiU realised from the beginning that someone needs to stay or thought that she didn't need to shoot herself since she was the only one awake or if somehow she didn't think Yoohyeon was stuck (as she was the only one Jiu looked at properly when she entered the room with the crystal). In the end JiU got stuck in the crystal and everyone else is shocked to see her there. Some people think the girls knew what JiU was doing, presonally I don't think so seeing SuA. I think it more likely that she didn't know seeing how shocked and almost numb she looked when she saw JiU in the crystal. If she knew what JiU was doing, I think her reaction would be more angry or sad, showing some type of despairing emotions then shock only. Also, I read that the characters they were acting as, were cast from the game this song is the ost for. And in there the characters that JiU and Gahyeon act as, are sisters. No joke, I was crying by the end of this MV because I had theorized what was going on before it came out, but I did not expect the ending and it got me emotional! 😭😭 The song is an OST for a mobile game called "Girl Cafe Gun", so it's a stand-alone story similar to how "Deja Vu" was and isn't related to their past MVs. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where giant crystals corrupted the world and minds of people. In this MV, JiU is trying to save everyone from their minds being trapped in a dream world/fake reality. As you saw, she only had 5 bullets, so at the end, after freeing everyone, she got trapped in a dream alone and couldn't save herself because she had no more bullets.

In a vlive Jiu said her character was freeing each member who got caught in their own personal nightmare. Since they are playing characters from the game my guess is that the nightmares connects to their backstory in some way. I think the beginning bit of them on the mountain is foreshadowing JiU getting trapped after she frees the members and the scene after she shoots Gahyeon is actually the scene right after she looks at the sun.

once you watch it and realize the story, the 2nd viewing and beyond... you get emotional... like when Gahyeon reaches for Jiu (b/c they are sisters in the game), she is happy to see her but all 5 of them are trapped inside the crystal in their worst fear... Jiu goes into the crystal and wakes them up by killing them but only to realize that she had to sacrifice herself b/c she didn't have enough bullets.... HanDong reacts to the MV, it's a great reaction if you have time to go watch it!

Unlike most Dreamcatcher songs, which are almost all composed and produced by the team of LEEZ (Lee Soo Min) and Ollounder (Oh Jong Hoon) - who also do a lot of the songwriting and production for boy group Ateez - "R.o.S.E Blue" was composed by renowned video game composer and soundscape artist ESTi (Park Jin Bae), who was in charge of sound for Girl Cafe Gun and really wanted to work with Dreamcatcher. The music fit the group's image but with different "spice" than their usual sound.

I'm sure they did exactly what the game company wanted but as a song Deja Vu is better as far as similar projects go. I'm really looking forward to their actual comeback though.

I was wondering if you were going to react to this! Even though it’s not a full comeback Dreamcatcher only delivered and then some both acting and vocals wise!! You can’t watch a Dreamcatcher MV without being completely absorb within the plot its the girls talent!!! And then the girls acting is so on point that literally everyone (at least everyone who I’ve seen react to the MV) are completely thrown for a loop and feels for the girls so much. This MV isn’t played within to DC’s main storyline (tho it does have some key motifs i.e Dreams, Jiu vs Yoohyeon, Butterflies, etc etc) since it is a collab with an anime RPG game that is set to be released soon called Gun Girl Cafe (I think cant remember the name off the top of my head lmao) and so all the members are playing as characters from that game! Long and short of it is that Jiu sacrifices herself to rescue everyone from their dreams-but in doing so is absorbed completely by them herself seemingly unable to break free. If it’s not too much to ask you can watch Handong’s reaction to the MV on their channel if you haven’t already seen it! It’s really cute and she gushed over the members; she’s been working hard to practice and keep up with the process for the next group comeback so we’re all crossing our fingers hoping she’ll make it to Korea soon! (Heh it’s my personal headcannon that the rabbit you see briefly at the beginning of the MV is a ref to Handong, she feels for the members while they’re in their dreams but is just as helpless as the others since she’s so far away; hence why the rabbit is quickly shown to be a ways off from the rest of the group seemingly lost but still trailing behind them)
