In his Biography, Bruce refers to Sam as a "Dark agent of chaos". He only "abuses" people he likes. Be it poking a sprained ankle that Bruce got with a stick or just putting Bruce through absolute hell just to get a 2 second shot. Yet he has only ever spoken highly of Sam every time they worked together. It's clear he's just a bit of an eccentric, but defo not a bully.

Plus, Bruce has said that the person Sam abuses worse than anyone else is Sam himself. On Evil Dead, he would go without sleep for days, he got super sick, and at one point, he got hit with a branch right across the forehead. He was dazed and visibly bleeding, but he insisted he was okay and he simply lay down for a little while to rest.

Sam always struck me as the guy who wants to make sure everyone is one the same page, always pushing some people because he knows they are capable of doing more. Kubrick was a similar way, but Kubrick was also an obsessive perfectionist that demanded so many takes that the lady actress from the Shining had a breakdown.

@@more1494 For example, Bruce Campbell's character Ash cuts his hand off and replaces it with a chainsaw in the second movie. Iirc in order to get the look of the chainsaw exhaust in every scene with it, they were constantly pumping a ton of smoke through hoses in Bruce's clothes which gave him major skin irritation and made him stink horribly after every scene they filmed with it, on top of the rig to do it being extremely uncomfortable and likely considered unsafe altogether these days.

It’s also well-known that he was very involved in that poker scene and made like $30 million from it, and several of his actions in the book are corroborated by others who were involved

@@thepaperninja3123 First and foremost, Avi is a businessman, and doesn't seem to grasp that pleasing people - be it the fans or those he works with - can help him make money and stay in generally good graces. - He insisted on including Venom in Spider-Man 3 in an attempt to profit off of Venom's general popularity, after accusing Sam Raimi of only including characters he liked (such as Sandman and Doctor Octopus). Sam, for his part, had no real interest in the character at the time. - Apparently, Avi also hobbled the Amazing Spider-Man films by killing off Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy because he didn't like that relationship drama, despite the relationship being one of the big driving forces of those films. - Avi wanted Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994-98) to be nothing more than "one big toy commercial", according to a 2005 interview with lead writer John Sempel Jr. As hampered as it was by network-mandated restrictions, John fought to ensure that the show was most definitely not that. - To paraphrase Avi's answer on what it would take for him to allow Spider-Man into the MCU, "it would have to focus entirely on Spider-Man and not be an ensemble piece".
