Would you truly give up not ever experiencing this great love in order to not experience the pain of loss? I think your mistake/pain is continuing to be in a marriage with a guy who clearly does not love you as much as your late husband and that constant reminder is what brings you so much regret and pain. You were clearly not ready to move on to the next marriage, but you did it anyway because you thought it could help you get over the pain of the loss of your late husband. That was a mistake, to put your healing in the hands of another---only time can heal this type of pain. IMO, having experienced the greatest love of your life, you should have either remained single OR be extremely picky with whom you next marry because, subconsciously, you will always compare that guy to your beloved late husband. It's not healthy for your emotional health and it's unfair to the new guy.
