It's so unnerving seeing Tom and Ben 'Pre-Beard'.

I love that at 8:20, Ben keeps a completely straight face, savouring the moment before ripping into Tom about the 4room

Btw, the way mosquitoes suck is through capilary action, which means water/blood clings to the sides of the tube and brings it all up same way trees transport sap around themselves and this only works in a very small scale so no, you could not fuck a mosquito that way

Btw sentient means none of the things they said there. It means able to feel. So like ants aren't sentient but dogs are (and neither are self-aware).
@VeryPeeved2 жыл бұрын
what do you mean? ants have senses, they can feel things. plants generally aren't sentient, i don't think, but ants certainly are.
@DuckoftheDraw2 жыл бұрын
@@VeryPeeved feel emotion I mean, not physical touch. Ants are guided entirely by instinct and aren't able to subjectively respond to the world.
@RubelliteFae Жыл бұрын
Plants also sense perceive, their responses are just slow. They point things toward light. They grow better with certain music than others. They communicate with each other underground through mycelia. I think it's a case of the human bias of only having ever experienced human consciousness that the possibility of other organism consciousness looks foreign to us. Mostly mammals and a few birds have features that remind us of how our consciousness works, so we call those more advanced, "because clearly we are the most advanced." (This isn't to say we are unique in this regard. A lot of organisms probably categorize other organisms as "food" or "not food.") Nagel's What Is It Like to Be a Bat explores what I'm talking about in more depth with greater rigor
