Where did the "Azathot dreams reality" even come from? Lovecraft never stated it but it seemed to be the canon for people who hasnt really looked up the mythos

I think it came from another creature from some other mythos by a completely different writer

I just released I typed a lot so here's TLDR. The character Josuke from JoJo's Part 8 could scaling to possibly high outerversal or boundless by using (possibly) overexaggerated statements and theories, due to something called logic being everything to a high outerversal scale (using theories ofc) but this is highly unlikely and 1 in a million. Also Josuke's scaling with feats is Complex Mulitversal at lowest, Low Outerversal at highest. YK, there's a character called Josuke in JoJo's Part 8, now feat wise, he's scaling is about low outerversal at highest possibly feats, however if crank it to 11, we can possibly match or even Go Beyond the power of even possibly boundless entities. Josuke's ability called Go Beyond (You see what I did there) is the ability to defy a thing called logic. Logic at it's highest level is quite possibly everything in existence so say if you were to eat a sandwich, you, the action of you eating and the sandwich would fall under logic and this can scale as for to the concepts of outerversal beings and possibly boundless (Although this most certainly not the truth and we can just state that it's everything to outerversal max. With this in mind, Josuke would scale above logic itself there for making himself more powerful than just low outerversal. Now the main issue here is one, they're no way in heck that Logic could scale this high and the Fate in JoJo's. Fate is possibly the literal plot itself, and even overexaggerated claims and theories aside, if fate were to be higher than logic, none of this would make any sense at all. And to wrap this up, this is only based on (possibly) overexaggerated claims and theories + a lil bit of feats, there's veyr little chance all this stuff is truth but I am just fighting out the stretched out scaling for Josuke that can make at least the least amount of sense, but if you want to use this character for debates plus these scalings just make sure they're just theories and (possibly) overclaimed statements, let's try not to make misunderstandings and stuff. And either way he's still very strong without these stuff like I managed before. Anyways you can reply for questions but up to you tbh.

Lovecraft’s writings weren’t canon until he died. It was a collection of ideas that he had. People took his ideas and organized it into the mythos. This is why people get confused into thinking that Yosothoth is more powerful than Azathoth.

the Mythos has no official canon and other writers besides Lovecraft have added to the Mythos. if someone else besides Lovecraft has said it then it can still be considered true, it's all up to your interpretation.

@@Burto11 I should rephrase myself because it's not that Lovecraft literally said that word for word, it's more about the fact that he never referred to his work as a mythos or canon, nor did any of his writer friends and peers that made contributions to the Mythos at the time. (He did however refer to his work collectively as "Yog Sothothery" but this was said as a joke and wasn't a sincere attempt to create or establish a canon) The terms "Lovecraft Mythos" or "Cthulhu Mythos" didn't exist during his lifetime, he didn't create those terms they were created after his death when writer and friend August Derleth compiled Lovecrafts work and added to the Mythos himself. HP Lovecraft and the other contributors to the Mythos were basically creating something akin to the SCP foundation, it was supposed to be a series of loosely connected stories with the cosmic entities as background elements that could be shared between stories and not to be treated as a concrete canon in itself.

It literally states in the unknown city of Kadath, and dreams in the witch house, and the collection of poetry that all reality is his dream, and if he awakes and everything returns to the nuclear chaos, Azathoth. This character was his reaction to Einstein, space-time, continuum theory and the exploration of the four dimensional universe. Az is the boundless, Damon Sultan, who exists beyond dizzying, mathematics and physics alike.

You know in a way you're right because they both definitely qualify as boundless. However when you have such powerful beings as these in your verse, there then has to be ways to gage even boundless beings against other ones. It does get confusing since Yog is stated to be the Supreme Archetype and strongest of them all, but Azathoth is still boundless to some. personally I think he is at the cusp of it because it's also stated even just the first gates to even get a chance to reach Yog Sothoth is beyond Azathoth. But if you want to say Aza is boundless, then there's layers to it. Azathoth is at least 1 layer into boundless. Yog is who knows how many layers into boundless haha 😅

Corrections: Lovecraft only called them "Other Gods" back when he was just getting back into writing, and he considers those early works he wrote to be mediocre. He later called them the Great Old Ones(The Call of Cthulhu), the Elder Gods(The Call of Cthulhu, the Old Ones(The Dunwich Horror), the Elder Things(The Dunwich Horror), the Archetypes(Through the Gates of the Silver Key), and the Ultimate Gods(The Dreams in the Witch House). Keep in mind that Lovecraft never had any intentions to make a complex convoluted theology or cosmology. He never wanted that. He instead intended to have all these gods to be the same type, just misidentified by humans because of how dumb and stupid we are. No, Yog-Sothoth is not the strongest or most powerful, Lovecraft never alluded him to that. Lovecraft was actually alluding to how Yog-Sothoth is coterminous with all time and space, and the other gods are not part of time and space, as stated many times in The Whisperer in Darkness. No, the gods don't sacrifice other god to satiate other gods, that was never stated in any story written by Lovecraft. I don't know how you got that. Have you read The Call of Cthulhu? Cthulhu lives in R'lyeh, which is located in the ocean. It was stated in that Cthulhu was born in the Ultimate Void in The Whisperer in Darkness. The Cthulhu Mythos can't be power scaled, this is not an anime or comic book. The original Cthulhu Mythos that Lovecraft created was suppose to be about cosmic horror, fear of the unknown, and the fact you are nothing and meaningless. The whole point of these gods is that are less like gods and more like incomprehensible mindless cosmic principles. ​@@JJWolfordrather not a lie, just misconceptions. the azazoth dreaming idea came from a writer named dunsany. in his book, gods of pegana, a being known as mana yood sushai who does dream the universe and like azazoth, is kept asleep by gods, just for a different reason. dunsany was a huge inspiration to lovecraft and there are definitely similarities in their works. as for the outer gods thing, i really have no clue why that game called them outer gods, since lovecraft never called that. there was one story (i believe dunwich horror but idk) where they were called ultimate gods which is cool
