Fun fact: in German folklore, we did have sly and mischievous foxes too. They were occasionally depicted in an anthropomorphic fashion. The most famous example would be the legendary exploits of Herr Reinecke.

@@enderpup9289 He was male and he wasn´t a shapeshifter. Foxes in European folklore rarely were (though we do have stories where e.g. a wolf dresses up as a human), but they were cunning, mischievous and loved to outsmart others, especially people full of vanity. Herr Reinecke is from a story in which every single character is an animal, with the king being a lion (what a surprise) and I believe the law was represented by dogs/wolves. In that story, he was a rogue noble traveling the realm and was busy being an antihero in a time where antiheroes were practically unheard of... It´s more of a Schelmenstück (no bloody idea how to translate that one; see it like the medieval version of a show where students fool around and constantly escape punishment), though a bit more morally grey. As you can expect from a piece of that time and culture, there was no sex involved in the entire story.

this reminded me of the episode of Pokemon when Ash, Brock, and Misty finds the old house belonging to a woman and her Ninetales. They soon found out that the Ninetales is actually an illusionist and made the illusion of the woman to force Brock to stay because he looked just like her old master.

@@kirbypsicopata29 yeah, when they realized that something was up, they found the office of its trainer which contains his portrait and its ancient poke-ball. The Ninetails used the woman illusion to communicate with the protagonists and told her story of how the owner left, and neved came back. They were able to subdue her by having Brock use its poke-ball to recall her, which made her happy, but not long after when Brock had to use her in a fight the poke-ball broke, so they convinced Ninetails that it was free to roam the world, which she accepted.

There’s a novel based on this account of Yoshifuji called ‘The Fox Maiden’ by Kij Johnson. It takes the point of view of both Yoshifuji, his wife, and the Kitsuné as well. I enjoyed it a lot and highly recommend it.

I mean I do argue all humans are driven by sin but they tend to go a lot better when it’s in moderation. Like for Lust here, no moderation. If his wife is away he goes to play with some other fine thing in a dress. And this time it did bite him in the ass. But what about when you are saving the damsel? Sure it might be fueled for lust but you are still saving an innocent. Or maybe for more mundane reasons like someone taking on the business for the next generation, or simply an heir. Wouldn’t really say that’s an immoral act, but more neutral.

Actually, Japanese fox folklores came from chinese mythology. It's just that they eventually spread and varied from one to another through generations. It's also the same with Korea's Gumiho folklores.

I (and I think 99% of your audience) would love to hear some ghost, demon, or whatever stories that you personally thought up & animated. Especially since I think you know by now that it's your own unique comedy and story telling style that keeps us coming back and not the stories themselves.

Well at least we learned something from everything we reshurched and saw wail creating the final project, i hope my classmates did to and that no one forgets how grate Japanise colture is. Y'all may have heard that the Japanese call it a Fox's Wedding when it is raining while the sun's out, It is fairly rare elsewhere in the world but It's fairly common in Southern Idaho in springtime, even in the past week it's done it twice. I wonder what so many Kitsunes are doing out here, vengeance for Minidoka mayhaps?
