I love that Supelek’s corner gave Shaw a drink of water after the final round. That’s one of the best things about Muay Thai is the absolute respect for each fighter.

Superlek dominated on points, damage, and aggression. even when he stopped attacking and went into Fimue mode; he maintained perfect distance and was completely safe. These commentators are atrocious. Biased perspective and lackluster analysis.

Thais are promoting Muay Thai by decreasing brutality in order to attract more interest and money into the sport. Sponsors have historically not supported the “brutal” sport. Orgs like k-1 even created new rules specifically to prevent brutal blows such as elbows and certain holds and throws.

I think a lot of that is them doing Yakkao a favor by legitimizing and building the underdog fighters up so it seems like the superior fighter isn't highly under matched. There's that high level of skill and so much more experience. A lot of times it looks like their challengers are sparring at the gym - and it looks like the Thai is in a fight. Just like Thai Fight - they give unknown fighters a chance to make a name for themselves. But it also gives their top level stable of fighters the opportunity to be spectacular and really put on exciting fights. Cheers

@@Lancentcx as a long life fan of fight sports I must say K-1 is IMO a perfect combo of rules to keep the fight entertaining (given the level of fighters of course) and not overly brutal (elbows to the head) and quite often really repetitive and boring as many muay thai fights are due to clinching and millions of repeated knees and legkicks.

I mean you say the western world is getting the hang of it? but not so much, maybe a few elites over here are representing us well but the majority will have no chance against Thais and Bermese. Theyre on a different level, A new breed of human. Westerners you showcase on Yokkao promotions would have no chance on the Lupinee or Rajadamnern circuit. Honestly the level and difference is huge, Some of them fight a few times a week and in some cases a few times a night! I feel this fight was the beginning of Superleks new style of fighting, hes a lot more energetic and unpredictable now. He was very straight forward before hand but everyone still had problems trying to beat him aha!

Woow 😬😳! What was it the commentator said about the Scottish lad just about when the fight started - ruthless and aggressive? If he is he definitely didn't get a chance showing that... MASSACRE is the only right word. And it started with Superlek's Ram Muay: the last bit when he dragged Shaw into the centre, then made the Scottish lad hang about there 'till he was finished praying... what a mindfuck that one! I'm guessing Shaw stopped doing the pre-fight social media psychological warfare thingy, at least before fighting Thais. I don't know what these commentators are on about though - "what a brilliant fight!" is an expression I'd use if the fight is amazing and the fighters are on the same level, not if it's a completely one-sided beating. I'm impressed Shaw managed to hang on the entire fight but the way the commentators were carrying on you'd be forgiven if you thought his performance would yield some high points.

I can’t stand delusional commentators in Muay Thai, it’s almost ALWAYS British or Scottish commentators that are extremely biased towards their fighters…and the ref should be investigated, he kept giving Shaw time to recover any time blood was on his face. This was a masterclass by superlek, unfortunately it’s been framed in a completely different way by the terrible commentators and the biased ref lol. I’m glad everyone in the comment sees sense. What a phenomenal fighter superlek was even at the age 21 and he’s only got better

To remembering and showing respect and remembering to the parents,his teacher that teach him the art of mauy thai and all his ancestors also to keep himself calm with concentration and make peace with himself before going in to war as it also known as a war dance...and if you look at the dance carefully then you will see that those moved is design to stretch the body's part and to warmup the body before the fight.

Lmaoo Talk like that will always bring more eyes to the sport which means more money for the sport... which is well overdue... boxers and ufc getting paid millions Muay Thai fighters 3 - 10 grand for the main event..
