Kathy Alibrandi No...I don’t know who Yola is. However I am black with “natural kinky 4C hair” and I don’t feel the need to wear a durag, bonnet, or silk scarf whenever I’m going to sing in front of white people. I’m very familiar with how black hair works. However you apparently aren’t familiar with the negative tropes and stereotypes that get perpetuated on our community by folks like Yola for their own self-interest and personal gain. If you’re 100% comfortable with this, I’m pretty sure you have a grand ole time watching “birth of a nation”, “song of the south”, or “gone with the wind”.
