@@drowningin Both titles are independent from each other, but Midnight Shadows has some references to Night Alone. I recommend playing Night Alone first, though it's not really required to understand the story of both games

@@InnerRise Definitely the atmosphere. The Yomawari series uses almost no music, the only sounds are the monsters and ambience, such as the buzzing of vending machines or your footsteps. Additionally, you always die in one hit, forcing you to not just rush around a corner as there might be a monster. What I'm trying to say is that the games aren't really your typical horror games in terms of jumpscares or something being gross to look at. The atmosphere just makes you feel alone and unsafe all the time. The Yomawari games don't want to scare you, they just want to make you uncomfortable or uneasy.

@@ephemeralexistence578 Mostly their own entity but Midnight Shadows has some references to Night Alone. So while the order doesn't really matter, I still recommend to play Night Alone first, to fully understand Midnight Shadows

@@ephemeralexistence578 what Dabbelith said, they are not really related, in fact (without spoilers don't sorry) Night Alone ando Midnight Shadows develops in neighbor cities, but MS is a little more enjoyable after you play NA :)

Check out some KZfaq videos of the first two games or the collection itself to see if it's up your alley.

@@AbdulQayyum-cm2dp They do, I played them on the switch called the yomawari collection, but ironically I first heard about these games from the Japanese version.

The first two Yomawari games had no music except for the main theme, and that's probably true for this game too, but the music is really good regardless.
