This must have meant a lot for Yamaguchi. She actually smiled at the winning match point… 7 years on, Yamaguchi is the World champion, the Japan Open winner and the world number 1.

This match is soooo underrated. Why?? Here is why. Wang ShiXian was in a very good form during this tournament, Yamaguchi was only 18 during this match. They displayed a very good match.. If this was "finals" level kind of match.
