I think it was because it was too slow...

+Acitra Jr. It's because they didn't have much showmanship. They were very nervous and had little confidence which showed in their performance. Their next performance is really great though. They did Whitney Houston's I'm Your Baby Tonight.

I felt like the girl w/ the grey shirt kept singing off key...you can hear it when she hits the high notes she cracks...maybe she was nervous idk...but my girl from New Jersey killed it ( girl sang a Billy Joel song) plus not a good combination/collaboration b/c you can see they both were having a hard time synchronizing w/ each other. #myopinion

the two were not a really good match. :( maybe they're more used to singing by themselves.. the pitch was everywhere and they aren't listening to each other..

Oh the one who sang that song was her little sister actually so they're different people. They have similar faces and emotional voices. If you pay special attention, it won't be that hard to differentiate between the two

+ftghb I agree. I don't think Yu Jei lacks passion at all. If anything, I think she was just scared because she was not yet comfortable with her performance. I also feel like she and her partner were not yet comfortable with each other, perhaps partly due to communication issues due to cultural differences. I don't think anyone could sing as beautifully as she does without passion and, what might not be apparent since she makes it look so easy, but a lot of hard work behind it. I do think as a performer she just needs to learn to fake confidence if necessary and to act as though she owns the stage. In her fantastic version of New York state of mind, for example, once she started singing, she looked completely comfortable. Even though I think this was not their best performance, I think the two of them did a beautiful job and they both have great voices. I am so impressed with all of the contestants this season.

I understand JYP's point of view. In this performance it does seem that Jei didn't have any passion, unlike other not so good contestants. It's understandable that she was nervous but she showed more passion in her other performances that this one was just disappointing. This is my opinion, I still think her voice is amazing and she is definitely one of my favorites.

+Elva Lopez except he wasn't just criticizing her for this performance. He was saying she didn't show much passion for being a singer in general.

He said what he had to say. Because if no one tells her, then do you think she'll try to give it her all next time? JYP is a smart person. Its about passion, not talent.
