I guess this is where I say stuff. Thanks again to Mark Medina for getting this setup, and thanks to Playtonic for making this game and reacting. Though, I recommend everyone try it for yourself, since I kind of avoid doing 90% of the game in this run. Such is the life of a speedrunner.

Them making the Impossible Lair out of drafts of the other levels that were deemed too hard was an interesting bit of information! I wonder if anyone's made a super hard bonus level that way.

It reminds me of the secret ending to Cave Story. Thatsecret "hell" level is excruciatingly hard compared to the rest of the game, there are three sections that have to be learned with several new mechanics and abilities and new monsters, two bosses, the second of which has at least 3 phases iirc, each of which takes many tries to learn, and there are no check points or saves during it, so you have to restart from the beginning each time. Without looking up any guides it took me two weeks of trying after work to beat it, and it was very satisfying. I wonder if they were inspired by that.

Speed Run for this shows how well the player is but also how well it's designed. In most it's usually only the former.

Indeed, but the speedrunner quickly recovered and fooled the Devs into thinking it was a no hit run. Still, only one hit throughout the entirety of the Impossible Lair isn't bad.

It certainly isn't easy, even with 48 bees. I suggest taking your time and going section by section. I just finished today. 48 bees in section 1, 38 in section 2, 16 in section 3 and 3 in section 4! Ended the game with 0 bees and 3 seconds on the escape clock! Phew...

I love this game. The developers hopefully realise they have made an amazing game. It takes major skill to pull off any exploit. You can't patch them all out or people will stop playing :')

In fact, you get a special tonic for beating the Impossible Lair from a fresh file -- Jirard Khalil (The Completionist) discovered this when he went to complete this game.

You'll never stop games from having exploits. Developers try to fix bugs that happen in normal playing. Speedrunners and glitch hunters will go out of their way to do things you wouldn't normally do in gameplay. Or things that were never intended. So unless you release a patch every few months to prevent it. You'll never stop exploits.

Can we get more 3d platformers platonic? Loved the first yooka and it needs another. It's a shame a lot of people never played the first one because of some bad reviews. All my friends I tell to play it they say, I heard that was bad, that's all people do anymore. Let other people think for them. Play it for yourself and give your OWN opinion on it. If you grew up with 3d platformers like me, these are great games.
