@@petrromanovich6492 Bundeswehr doesn't use Stechschritt (goosestep) anymore is because the usage of Stechschritt doesn't fit to what Bundeswehr actually do now (and that is, only used by Line Infantry)

@M.Z. Allgemein wird der Paradeschritt nicht exerziert da die Bundeswehr sich am Marsch Protokoll von 1906 orientiert. Dies weißt strikt an dass „Leichte Infanterie“ nicht die Erlaubnis hat den Paradeschritt zu exerzieren.

@M.Z. Das sind aber auch beides inoffizielle Auftritte. Solange die Bundeswehr es nicht während (z.B.) militärischen Ehren macht ist es völlig in Ordnung da sie sich bei solchen Ereignissen nicht ans Protokoll halten müssen (sieht man auch wenn man beobachtet was für Tricks die mit den Karabinern machen).

Authoritarian maybe, but economical, no. DDR never had any hardships or shortages. The only thing they were short of was western products.

@@Natadangsa Not quite ;) It‘s a gag here in Germany that the DDR famously declared war on the „imperialist potato bugs“. In 1950, the DDR was short of potatoes and a big part of the crops failed. The propaganda ministry then told the population that the US and Britain had dropped potato beetle‘s (or „Colorado beetles“) over east Germany to destroy all their crops. Of course, this entire story was disproved by the fact that 1. Potato beetles were impossible to be held captive (at that time!) and 2. Not a single US or British bomber had been spotted over East Germany. It‘s just a nitpick but a small and funny footnote in history ^^
