Here is a short video on the murder of Patricia Atkinson by The Yorkshire Ripper (Peter Sutcliffe) in Bradford.
I visited the grave of the victim and the flat that is now derelict where the murder happened.
Note: Patricia's married name was Mitra as shown on the wooden cross.

I think that Jack the Ripper was the killer in East London in 1888. He was never caught. The Yorkshire Ripper is the killer who committed this crime and a lot of others in Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Manchester etc in the 1970's. Peter Sutcliffe.

Tricia lived in one of our bedsits just weeks before she was murdered, only leaving as the tenancy was in her boyfriends name. I was only 9 years old and I remember a glamorous, gentle, kind and beautiful woman. I wish they could find a photograph to show the real woman. Tricia though I am now 55, I will remember you fondly forever. Rest in peace lovely lady

Great informative video on this poor victim. Very disgusting racist graffiti on the walls of that derelict building. What a shame. Evil follows evil I guess

didn't she have family its looks like a poor grave shame. Looks like it's been dug around the edges. My dad drives Trucks and said he used to deliver at same place as Peter in the times he was murdering these women and said he was normal bloke when he spoke to him in the canteen. But he used look rite through you creepy.

This brings back memories. I used to live at the top of Emm Lane. I have not lived in Bradford for 30 years so things will have changed. I have just looked at Google earth (I am in New Zealand these days) and can see a building directly across Oak Avenue from those flats seen in the video. That building used to be the Oakleagh Pub and I used to meet friends in there on a regular basis and I knew the landlord reasonably well (although I cannot now remember his name). One night he mentioned a woamn sat with a group of people and he said "She is a prostitute but so long as she is not after custom she is OK being in here". I did not know the woman and thought no more about it. A week or two later I walked down to the Oakleigh with friends and the flats across the road were surrounded by the red tape that the police put around crime scenes and we heard that a waoman had been murdered in there. I only realised when I saw the police photo of the victim in the local paper that it was the woman that had been pointed out a few weeks earlier. I felt sick. I knew that female friends in the area, especially those living alone, were in a state of terror and would not go out alone.

i did not know that one of the Yorkshire's victims was killed at home I thought they were all caught and murdered outdoors. what a shame re the flats but not surprised no one wants to live there. who maintains her grave? did she have children? i don't think it was her but I remember one victim left her children to walk the streets and when she went did not return in the morning the children went to find her. it was a son I know wrote the story her body was found nearby but I don't think they found her thankfully

@@BradfordThroughTheLens yes this was the only one indoors friends and this was also the murder that got him caught along with the traceable fiver. it was this murder that he covered her body up with a white sheet then left a bloody foot print which gave the police more evidence to finally catch him.

Tina had three children who lived with her ex in another part of Bradford. Wilma McCann was murdered by Sutcliffe in October 1975 in Leeds, and it was two of her children who went looking for her early in the morning when she didn't return home after an evening out. They were waiting at a bus stop near their home while a milkman discovered her body on nearby playing fields.
