【ペトラ遺跡】
映画「インディー・ジョーンズ」で一躍有名になった「最後の聖戦」のロケ地であるヨルダンのペトラ遺跡。紀元前1世紀から紀元後1世紀にかけて建設された古代アラブ民族のひとつ、ナバタイ人の王国ナバテアの都で、映画のクライマックスに登場し、強いインパクトを受けました。それ以来、死ぬまでに行っておきたいと思いつつ３０年以上、ようやくたどり着くことが出来ました。移動時間は20時間以上かかりましたが、それだけの価値は十分すぎるほどありました。何はともあれその規模に圧倒されました。遺跡をまわっていると想像以上に栄えていた古代都市を目の当たりにしました。映画も迫力ありましたが、それ以上に荘厳さを感じさせてくれたペトラ遺跡。今も心に深く刻み込まれています。(2023/10/11)
【Jordan “Petra Ruins” Desert Kingdom】
The ruins of Petra in Jordan are the filming location for the film ``The Last Crusade,'' which became famous in the movie ``Indiana Jones.'' It is the capital of the Nabataean kingdom of the Nabataean people, an ancient Arab tribe founded between the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD, and it appears in the climax of the movie, making a strong impact. Since then, I've been wanting to go there before I die for over 30 years, but I finally got there. The trip took over 20 hours, but it was well worth it. Anyway, I was overwhelmed by its scale. While walking around the ruins, I saw an ancient city that was more prosperous than I had imagined. The movie was impressive, but the ruins of Petra made me feel even more majestic. It is still deeply engraved in my heart. (2023/10/11)
