As a carhauler....bridge height is critical. Any questionable bridge will have you sucking up a seat cushion

Im not a trucker. But I have seen sticks that some truckers use to measure the bridge before going under. If people get mad, they get mad. Everyone deserves to put food on the table for their family. A broken truck wont do that.

I've seen a lot of drivers, especially with tall stacks, mount an extra convex mirror at the top of their driver side mirror aimed to let them watch the tallest point of the truck. For some, it's the leading corner of the trailer, for others it's the top of the stacks. Either way, it makes it a LOT easier to watch for any possible issues from lower bridges.

A thing I do is to watch other trucks go under the bridge. By the way, I'm from the U.S. and I understand metric.

Yeah he's totally write the main thing is like New York State all the roads in New York state any type of bridge they add like they say it's shorter they say it's 13 ft when it's probably 13/8 and it's all to do with snow impacts and build up of ice so that goes on what 5 months a year we have to worry about it but all the bridges are measured that way only New York state does that the other 49 do not

Ca mostly doesn’t pave under bridges they grind out the road before and after the bridge you see it all the time new road then old concrete underneath the bridge

Here in the US did the Bridge height sign is white the hike is that exact did the Bridge height is written in on a yellow sign it allows for a few inches of snow three or four inches taller

You always, always, should check your Hights, if it's too high go by, if it's too low don't go! If your not sure, pull over and call for assistance! Better to be safe than sorry!😮😮😊
