I know I'm not a sadist, but, yes, the blast from Chrysalis's powerful magic could've killed Celestia. And I know she's immortal, but in-canon, she's not a Goddess, as Lauren Faust pointed out that both Celestia and Luna are Demi-Goddesses that live forever because they're connected to the sun and moon, and her surviving getting blasted by Chrysalis is like Twilight surviving an anvil falling on top of her head, which would've cracked her skull, killing her instantly. Edit: BTW, I don't think Chrysalis has ever killed a single pony throughout the entire franchise, but she successfully defeated the Princess of the Sun, and somehow survived getting blasted by Chrysalis's magic after a cliched Beam-O-War? I call bulls***!
