Today, Valeria is joined by the one and only Ronda Rousey. Uncensored and finally speaking her truth, Ronda Rousey is in a new era of her life, moving on from and exposing the UFC and WWE. Ronda also opens up about the dark time in her life after losing her fight with Holly Holms, the abusive dynamics between coach and athlete, and how motherhood has changed her for the better. Join Valeria and Ronda as they dive deep into self-ownership and authenticity, particularly in the face of public demonization and personal tragedy.
Ronda completely transformed the world of martial arts, most notably, through her record-setting career as the UFC’s first and most dominant female fighter. She was the first woman inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, in 2018, the same year she exploded onto the WWE scene. During her time in WWE, she held the Raw, Smackdown, and multiple tag team titles. Ronda is also a New York Times bestselling author and an actress.

This was tough to watch. Ronda obviously has CTE. The way she’s slurring her words and the lifelessness in her voice… she didn’t used to talk like that. Ugh I have so many feelings about this. I truly was a Ronda stan in her ufc days, and I still consider myself a fan and I have a tremendous amount of respect for her and what she’s accomplished. That said, the secret concussion thing and ~I fell down the stairs a week prior and that’s why I lost~ is just not something I am buying and it’s very disappointing. It reads to me as validation-seeking, excuse-making, intentional self-delusion, etc. Not to mention the fact that these statements inherently attempt to negate Holly’s well-deserved win to some degree. Idk. It’s just not a dignified look or thing to do to both herself and Holly.

Wow I randomly ran into this podcast. Admittedly, I am a Rousey fan but I did not know that this new book has been released nor have I head about this podcast (First time hearing this girl with a strong accent). With that being said, My Fight Your Fight is literally one of my favorite reads. I own both the audio book and a hard cover book. Ronda is really inspirational, and this is coming from an mma fan who is a freaken business-school professor... so you know Ronda's message and story indeed does transcends. I will definitely be buying this new book of hers.

I started jiu jitsu after seeing Ronda in the ufc coz I wanted to learn how to do an arm bar! Haha best thing I’ve done 😊👍🏾 Also she was definitely the UFC’s show pony for ages. I haven’t seen any other female fighter on every talk show since her.

So let me understand this correctly. The doctors, apparently, knew you were concussed but agreed to keep it quiet and risk their careers and your LIFE just to let you continue to fight? C'mon Ronda, please stop. Own what happened to you. People will respect you far more if you own the truth and admit you simply got beat. Stop the bulls**t. This interview is painful to watch, and the interviewer is equally as pathetic. 🙄

I don't hate, I think Rousey was definitely one of the top fighters. But I come from an era when top fighters keep fighting, and it's OK to lose and come back. She choose not to keep fighting to not tarnish her acting career. Because if you keep losing, then the name fades away

So in the post-benoit tragedy Era ufc and wwe both decided to risk allowing her in the ring with a concussion because what? Oh because she is the best fighter to ever live. Wow next time she tries to change the narrative she should really come up with a better excuse than that. When she signed with wwe they were in the process of being sued over concussions. The lawsuit didn't get thrown out until months after her debut. I just can't buy that both companies missed and/or looked past all these "concussions" I never knew that the best fighter to ever live would need so many cheap excuses for losing. Judging by her immature temper tantrums, she should skip the malfunctioning mouth guard and just get a pacifier. She is resentful to the fans because they saw through her bullshit. The only title she gets is the most overrated, ignorant, immature athlete of all time.🎉🎉
