I have every characteristic of a FN. It’s been a huge blessing to learn the about this body type. I’ve always felt too big. Even at my smallest. My draw to flowing fabrics, I questioned because society teaches women to wear tight and revealing clothing. I am now so proud of my FN body and lookforward to dressing in a way that is comfortable and stylish.

So interesting! For me it was the other way around, I'm a TR and tried to hide my curves with oversized clothing. I think generally society tends to teach women that there is always something wrong with our bodies that we need to correct

yes same. i just figured out that i'm also FN, and for me one of my biggest insecurities is my upper thighs especially if i wear short tops it'd have waist emphasis and they'd just look really big even tho i've always been skinny. i've found that really long and straight pants would be needed for me if i want waist emphasis, or at least tops that are pretty long to pair with skin tight pants

Tall girls, just know that a FN is much more common than a D or a SD. I'm a FN despite not having a lot of the typical features. I have narrow shoulders, bustline and waist, broad hips. Generally narrow bones, but they are blunt! I have a natural essence in my face despite lush lips and a small nose. I have a good waist-to-hip ratio, but my curves aren't lush as a SD would have. I don't have much width and I prefer how I look with waist emphasis. Typing myself was difficult but I'm not a D despite narrowness (because I'm blunt and my face has a natural essence) and I'm not a SD despite curves (because my curves aren't rounded and soft, they mostly come from my bones, Kibbe curves aren't just the hourglass figure, it's the fleshyness, roundness and softness). Anne Hathaway is an example of a narrow FN, so is Nicole Kidman, Irina Shayk.

You are right. Lately I've found out that some tall celebrities have been classified as flamboyant gamines by Kibbe, i.e Taylor Swift and Lily Cole.

@@Elena-ti3kc No, he never classified Taylor or Lily as flamboyant gamines. It was misinformation spread by merriam style. Kibbe has actually verified Taylor as dramatic.

@@rainnnnnnn you are right. And that merriam style have lot of misinformations and longer you listen to her the more confused you became. I am very thorough at analysis but she made it so complicated that when you actually combine all her information you realise she doesn't make any sense.

The style examples you've given were spot on! Finding out I'm a textbook FN at 6' has been such a revelation for me. I look 100% better when I wear long lines that also accomodate width. Clothes that are the right size but are too constricted or stiffly tailored can still look shrunken on me. My vibe is also stereotypically FN 😅, people often describe me as having wild child hippie vibes, even if I don't try to look that way. I'm really happy about being FN even though it is sometimes hard to find clothes that are long enough.

I feel like I’m somewhere between FN and SD. When I’m chunky my waist disappears. When I’m in shape I have an hourglass. I get the most complements when I wear a vertical stripe dress, rectangle shape with a drawstring waist and v neck.

You sound like me and I’m SD. My waist disappears once I go over a certain weight. Sort of like the pics of Raquel Welch when she’s heavier. I always say that the area under my boobs gains weight when I’m heavy.

Agreed! I look so muscular and big in tight clothing and my thighs look huge in short shorts. But when I dress for my type, I feel sophisticated and free❤

Love your videos!! Thought I was FN from height and wideness, but oversized clothes look not pretty on me, shorter legs, long torso and arms, slightly exotic face features, but make-up easily looks clownish. So hard to find out, what Kibbe type I am, but I keep watching your clips👍

I'm not sure, but I think Cristina Ferrare, Christie Brinkley and Kathy Ireland are this body type and I have always liked their fashion sense. That is correct that dropped waist styles and no high neck designs look better and no ruffles or bows.

Hi and thank you for the amazing video. What should we do with our tops/ pullovers / wool sweaters and trousers in order to not emphasize our waist? If you just let them lose don’t we appear too frumpy ?

My solution is that I place the emphasis a bit lower, on the top of my hip bone. I definitely look frumpy with too loose, hanging clothes.

I can't figure out if I'm a FN or SN. I have long arms and legs, shorter torso, but I'm angular, and my face shape and features are very much between Blake Lively and Scarlet Johanson. I can look much taller than I am depending on the right cut of clothes. I know for sure the loose long lines look best on me, especially in pants. The flare leg or bootleg Jean looks the best on me. Also a bit curvy. Ahhhh, this is so interesting but hard!

I have heard(I don't know if it's on your channel or somewhere else) that if you are over 5ft 7in then you are either a FM, D or SD. I'm 5ft 7.3 inches so does that mean I'm in one of those three? Or can my height still fit into the classic category?

Confused if I'm a flamboyant or soft natural. I am definitely some kind of natural, I have broad shoulders and rib cage and look athletic. I'm 171cm, but I look small because I have short muscular legs and a long torso. People are actually shocked by how tall I am when I stand next to them and say "I never realised you were so tall". I have a defined waist but not overly so. I have a flat chest and quite large hips. I have large lips and eyes and a soft bulbous nose (facial features like scarlet johansen but larger eyes).

:D I thought you just described me lol! Just that I am 168 cm tall, but the rest sounds like my structure, both in body and face :)))). I am wondering the same as you do, I know I am in the N category but not sure if FN or SN. Did you try on clothes that are recommended for both types to see which ones you like on you? I think I lean more toward SN though because FN clothes seem to be too overpowering for me, with too much fabric...

@@adelaidee84 I'd say I take elements from both. I definitely always need some bloused waist emphasis. If I wear flared jeans with an oversized jumper I would look super wide even though I'm only 63 kilos. My best look is flared jeans and a loose blouse fully tucked in. Sleeves rolled up and neck open quite low.

Flamboyant naturals have a long vertical line so if you don't "look" tall I think you're probably a natural or soft natural

You sound like FN. SN usually are smaller and have more romantic undercurrent which means curve overall.

@@gbosonnet That sounds like a very neat look for SN. I too need open-neck tops and waist emphasis (I have quite a small waist compared to my hips lol). FN need longer lines in general because of their vertical line. If people are amazed by your height when they meet you, probably means that you don't appear tall.

For the longest time I’ve assumed I was a FN however diving deeper into the information I’ve realised I’m SD, I’m tall and have width however I’m fleshy, slightly soft upper arms, softer thighs, my face is slightly softer and I have big eyes and lush lips. I’m not curvy per say but it’s definitely not just bone and width, there is softness and flesh

I can't figure out which one I am but I do think clothes recommended for SD are much more flattering on me (I definitely need waist emphasis) and it seems like FN are much straighter with less curve and my waist to hip ratio is more extreme. I think if I gained weight I would be much more SD because I gain in my legs and very rarely in my stomach area. So I'm leaning towards SD. But the boobs are throwing me off!

Natalie Cole was probably best in Flamboyant Natural lines as you suggest. Whitney Houston on the other hand seemed like she would have been overpowered in FN lines. She had a fine boned, delicate quality and symmetry that makes me think of some combination of dramatic and classic.

Can you be FN if u fit most of the criteria but i ain’t naturally muscular. Like im pretty soft(i started working out gym to build muscle and get fit but i know ppl who don’t work out at all and are naturally more muscular than i am). I used to think im a SD bcuz i have “softer flesh” but while i have wide ass i have small boobs I think i might be the only person that hyperfixate on Kibbe for 3 days straight just to come to the conclusion I’ll wear soft dramatic styles either way+styles recommended for petite girls bcuz i feel more like myself in em. I love me FN styles too but the thing is i am a very versatile person and i cannot stick to one style

Same 😅 I'm just now taking the time to learn about kibbe body types. I was too lazy and confused before when I first heard of it only last year. I think I'm a FN but looking at the style recommendations some of them are just way off what I think looks good on me in my opinion. I only like high waisted jeans or pants never mid rise or lower but that could be because I have a long torso and it makes my legs look longer. I'm not too crazy about Oversized things unless I'm mixing fitted or cropped into it or layering with something feminine underneath otherwise I'd have no shape. I love mock or high neck tops and halters. I have wide shoulders and currently overweight so I'm curvy atm. I think even within these categories we'll find that different things look good on us regardless of which one we fit into. Currently loving ultra high waisted dad jeans, slim straight legs and straight to wide leg full length pants as they make my hips look wider to balance out my shoulders. Fun to look at these videos though 😁 some of the points are relevant to me.

I pretty much fit all the characteristics except that I have curves/hourglass shape, whether thin or overweight. But when thin I guess my curves aren't like that of a SD, it's just that my waist is pretty narrow which makes the curves look more pronounced? Even when overweight the waist stays relatively narrow. I'm not sure because I have PCOS so it's made me gain weight in places that I don't think I would have if I didn't have PCOS. I think I would look like Jennifer Lawrence; I can see that she has curves, they're just not so...lush, I guess. The vertical line is still the focus for us. My mom is textbook FN though, so it makes sense that I would also have those features.

@@MJBpeace exactly, it's considered moderate which opens a loooot of possibilities for us. I heard not even the tests will give an accurate result and it's so difficult to analyse your own bones 😂

@@StopTheCatcher Right?! it makes my head look so tiny in comparison. 1 year later and I've completely moved away from kibbe body types. It just does not work for me. I'm a 5' 10", curvy on the bottom, flat on the top, female who does not fit into ANY of these boxes lol. What works for me is dressing timeless and drawing inspo from Pinterest

@@sarahelo9656 Thanks for your experience. I'm 5'3 and pretty much FN, except for the height. My personal impression is that FN is simply one of the most difficult proportions, because of broad shoulders, little waist, inconspicuous hips. Very straight, not very feminine in general. I think as a FN it really depends on what other body shapes you resemble. I'm usually perceived as petite when I'm 'well dressed'. Still, I can't just put on any T-shirt like people with narrow shoulders can. Looking fashionable with narrow shoulders seems easy to me. You can wear almost anything, depending on the rest of your body shape. However, this also applies to FN. The only characteristic is that the shoulders are the widest. I can hardly wear loose clothing, only on the legs, otherwise I look wider than my height, haha. I also choose based on subjective feeling and it is the best. To be honest, if I followed the advice given to FN, no man would look at me as a woman in my mid-20s anymore, haha. That's not a good sign. 😁 I believe that FNs are too complex to give such general advice, as large or small breasts alone can change everything. Likewise the size if you don't want to be a square. 🥸
