This song is for my beloved dog... When i was 4 years old my dog died... That was my very first friend..Now i'm 12 years old and I still miss him. I always cry when i think about him. Its funny how young i was and i still remembering laying outside with him with my brother. I layed down next to my dog on the dirt petting him and crying. I miss him so much. It made me cry too because it was the song I used to sing to my blind Siamese cat, named Lucky,. He was only about 4.5 lbs his whole life. We only were blessed enough to have him in our lives for the his last 9 years and we just had to say goodbye to him and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Your beautiful version brought me to tears but also helped me in my grieving process losing my true best friend. He was the purest form of innocence I have ever seen in this world. Iv had a hard life , I'm only 18 and my hand has been a bad one. I had a meltdown today about all of the things that I have to deal with past and present.my mom used to sing me " you are my sunshine" when I was little and despite all the things that has happened around me my mom singing that song would always make me the happiest little girl but even though I may be broken I still tear up by the song where ever I hear it reminding me that my moms not there for me anymore no matter how much she wants to be or tries to be she not and as much as I don't want to look at it for what is is I need to except that.
