my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer when i was 13, at that time i started playing guitar and this was the first song i learned on it and she absolutely adored it. 3 years later i’ve been singing this song for her all through out her radiation sessions and every time she was stuck in the hospital after her surgeries and through her recovery. she will always be my sunshine.

I would listen and sing this song and it’ll fill me with hope that one day everything is going to turn out one day and that nothing bad will happen in my family. My siblings, my mom, and my disabled sister and it’s getting worse than ever with her. They’re my only sunshine and they make me happy when the skies are gray. And they help me fight my depression even through they don’t know that I’m depressed, they still do and they prevent me from committing suicide everyday. This made me cry while typing this and I don’t know why?? ❤️😭❤️😭❤️ I love my family. Like this if you to love your family so very much.

I see all of these comments where mothers sing this song to their children and vice versa, where they had best friends that sang this, etc when my mother doesn't even allow me to go near her....all she does is complain how terrible everything and everybody is....I'm like the family "therapist"....they let all of their feelings out on me....I just wish I had a normal family for once, where I could've actually had a childhood instead of maturing myself to help raise my siblings....
