In the 70's I did a workshop by a man named Stewart Emery, it was on relationships. The 3 day workshop ended with us being given a hand mirror, each one their own, and with the recording we sang this song to ourselves! Everyone was crying because we learned you have to love yourself to love someone else, and it is a most difficult thing. Loving Jesus comes to mind hearing this song. Such a shame we lost him early in his career. What a soul that Joe Cocker!

When my grandson was born, I held him and sang this song to him and now he's 4 years old, we both sing along together. This is a special song as I lost my husband and 5 months later, our little Journey was born. Every Night before bedtime, he'll start singing to me, with sadness and a glow only he will show to me. I too love this song as it's a reminder that losing a great husband, our grandson amazingly is so like his Grandfather. Cheeky Gordie. Journey has bought life, love, humor, joy and so blessed we all are. As for me, it's living the life since Journey was born, saddened that my husband isn't here to share the love. My wife died recently to a zombie bite.. all i could remember was the time me and her used to play this on the record player of a diner and there was one instance of some drunkard being noisy and preventing us from having a moment. He later swung on me and i retaliated after i confronted him over his obnoxiousness which later on seem to be my biggest mistake as he was a father of one of my students i coached at the local High School. However i dont regret ever confronting him so my wife and i could have a precious moment together.. be at peace honey..

My girlfriend of six years was taking care of her sick mother for the last two years. I noticed that she became distant from me. I fell back, and gave her the space she needed because of the stressful and very difficult situation she was going through. Unfortunately, her mom recently passed away. My girl called me a few days ago and we spoke. She said she felt ugly because of all the stress she went through caring for her mom.
