Sounds good but not really. If a person is already out of banking, and nightly news, then that person is more likely not to be a target consumer. If KZfaq gives you suggestions and you click around them you'll be fine. The day when someone comes to collect you because you didn't purchase enough is still a long ways off, perhaps a lifetime away. A person would need to stop using their credit cards to avoid detection.

It's very difficult to move away from social media. How do you connect with friends and family in different parts of the world? Is there one big group chat? It's a lot easier to upload photos of your trip to facebook for your friends to see than the individually send those photos to different people. Where is that taking place if not on fb messenger or whatsapp? The less tech savvy will probably not want to use Telegram or Signal. What do you do about the contacts you want to keep but aren't close enough to talk to? It's simpler to have them as friends on fb, check in occasionally. I rarely use social media but it's hard to disconnect entirely.
@tk0192
@tk0192 2 жыл бұрын
If you truly want to move away then you'd have to convince others to change too. I think despite being less tech savvy, people close to us like mothers/friends would be willing to try apps like telegram. There's the option to drop it all together. Do we really need to be connected to each other 24/7? If we really cared we'd reach out despite the inconvenience. It's very easy to move away from social media, we just overcomplicate things so we don't have to do it. [Edit - typo]

Hahaha the ways you are thinking have been all the reasons so many cling to it... it's narcissistic and toxic culture that we have created with social media. It's not at all about other people, it's about how many likes and comments we get, or who we can spy on etc. It's very bad for our psyche....Delete your social media and see who your real friends are... most are so lazy they never call or text you, it's not real friendship if you don't really care enough about someone to call or write a letter to them. Make plans through a face to face conversation with them. Social media disgusts me

It is bad, but not as bad as it sounds. Credit Cards and credit scores have been watching people for decades now. You took tests which measured you before entering University. If you have tattoos all over your neck, you won't be the first selected for a job. Of course the social media pathways can dig deeper and explore more of your past but They are more interested in selling you some product you don't need or hooking you into another happy foolish loan. It is up to you to not buy in, and They move onto the next consumer. Don't be such a consumer. Now who's up for one of those fashionable $7 dollar teas overdosed with sugar? I'm buying!

why is it that every think piece detailing the harmful effects of social media (especially in a political context), exclusively highlights harmful right wing rhetoric but never left wing? if the point of this conversation is to make people aware of how harmful these algorithms can be, wouldn't it make sense to also highlight the damage on both ends of the spectrum? in the end this ends up just sounding like exactly what the presenter is warning against, social media manipulating political opinions. for reference go and watch the vice video about facebook, which touches on several similar talking points. it basically amounts to "social media is bad because it makes you right wing". it's weird and comes off as disingenuous and not very objective. for the record i absolutely believe data mining and social media are harmful, and the worst example of that was without question the capital riots, i'm in complete agreeance with that point. i'm just thrown off by how there are zero examples mentioned about the radicalizing of left wing politics, and the harmful effects of that.

After 18 years of internet use google still doesn't know what things to advertise to me and the handful of adverts i do see are for things i would never actually partake in lol So please do explain why i care
@tk0192
@tk0192 2 жыл бұрын
You weren't listening if advertisements are your argument. If google is misidentifieing you then you're probably a weirdo tbh haha. If you're not signed in then they'll have a harder time identifying you, although there are still temporary measures such as browser, browser versions, OS... But that's not quite the point either. Why should you care? Well you /should/ care because being conscious of wrong-doings and contributing to them is morally wrong is one. Another perhaps more understandable one is if what red shirt is saying is true, then democracy and our future is slowly being undermined and most of us will be unaware of what's happening. So if this is true, this will affect your life at some point. Beyond that, idk continue living like nothing's happening 🤷‍♂️ I can't help ya care.

Oh OK you’re one of those guys I haven’t you’ve been watching the news chump those FBI informants other ones who kept telling the people over and over to go onto the capital over and over and then the other guy took the fence down to make it people that were standing in parts in areas where they were allowed to stand and now they’re charger A felony because where they were standing at nobody would’ve went into the capital if it wasn’t for I can’t remember his name right now but I’m really mean I’m a go back and I’m gonna get it he said you’re talking about like Trump won the election because he stole it or you crazy Trump was not in politics until he became the president the Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the ones who do that type of stuff they just did it in 2020 and there’s plenty of evidence that people ignore just like Joe Rogan found out how to get rid of cove it 19 any other Dana White the president of the UFC and he was on TMZ he had Covid and his wife had Covid his daughter had Covid and his 80-year-old grandmother had Cove it lost his taste and smell call Joe Rogan because he knows that Joe know what to do because Joe has that podcast the most successful podcast in the world so Joe knows a lot of powerful and smart people and he has many conversations on his podcast Joe got Covid and got rid of it one day Dana White in this family got rid of it for five days and 40 of Joe’s friends did the same thing and got rid of it now you can’t even get ivermectin anywhere since Dana White was on TMZ why is that the government don’t want people to get better how do they know another strain of Covid is coming and it’s going to be stronger this mask is not gonna work how do they know these things they’re not God it’s because they’re putting it in the air themselves why do you think we got Cove it when we did because the elections were coming and Joe Biden know that he needed mail in ballots if he had a chance he still didn’t have a chance so then they cheated what do you think the borders are open and they’re letting illegals and since he became president he stole the president seat it’s Kamala Harris‘s job to take care of the border what are they doing about the border nothing nothing at all they want those people here because they know they can make them vote Democrat will let you answer the country if you vote Democrat well they offered to give migrants if they Lauster their children when they came over the border almost $1 million a family what do you think that is that’s a vote for me money do you know how to bully me do your own homework i’m just a person who pays attention to what’s going on our country has never been like it is right now Joe Biden won’t even go rescue the American people that were in Afghanistan America don’t leave nobody behind what what happened if we really didn’t get into a war he don’t got a set of balls on him at all he just gave the Taliban an army of vehicles and helicopters then he was paying them he just wanted that money freed up in case he had a start paying migrants I am government is so confusing and it’s crazy but after this year I promise you a lot of people open their eyes because there’s two idiots in the White House right nowWhy do you think they’re always talking about the second amendment we need to stricter gun laws we need to do this they want to take everybody’s guns they don’t wanna second amendment because if you don’t have a second amendment you don’t have any amendments because that one protects the rest
