Ah, the 80s. Life was simpler. Housing was affordable. College was affordable. You actually met people, in person. You could get a job anywhere. Folks still went to church on Sunday. Men asked women out on dates, and actually paid. Folks still respected their elders. And the music was incredible and unique. You never know you're living in the best of something, until it's over. If we only knew then, what we know now....

For me the 90s were the best for me. Nine eleven was the dividing line. We let ourselves get scared and lied to, and we never dealt with the people (our own) who did the towers. Things have been getting worse ever since. Time to wake up.

I was 2 years out of high school, and 1985 it was one of the best years of my life, i was still a virgin believe it or not LOLOL, but i was just taking my time , and this was one of my fav songs and Don Johnson was one of the COOLEST dudes i ever saw on TV . Folks, don’t forget the song was written, and performed by Glenn Frey as part of his solo career… founder of the Eagles with Don Henley. Those two wrote and performed 90% including Hotel California and so many great songs and we lost Glen in 2016 to rheumatoid arthritis. May he rest in peace

Class of 85. People are still doing that sort of thing today. Who cares about being six feet apart if someone isn't part of your cohort, you can still socialize. As for meeting in person, I can remember long phone calls and getting yelled at for tying up the line or not, depending on if my Dad wanted to avoid phone calls.

I'll always remember this. I was at NYU Hospital after back surgery when they were flying up and down the East River in helicopters, getting all those night shots. Manhattan was in full gridlock that summer with them filming all over the place! July/August of 1985. I was 18 and just out of HS, looking to get my surgery over with and get on with my life! The 80s were absolutely the most amazing time in my life.

In that sense, Gato Barbieri's Europa, which was used on Definitely Miami (S2E13) is a masterpiece. The album, Caliente, was recorded in 76 but the song suits the episode perfectly. The whole album is great, i especially like I want You and Los Desperados.

There is no comparing today's NY to the 80s. Sure it looks cleaner and nicer but it's lost its soul. Back then it was grittier and more mysterious. Miss that.
