very nice instruction. love the techniques. Does this type of saw use a pull or push orientation of blade. also anything special on "drilling" a bandsaw blade?

Thank you for the comment. I use it on the push stroke but you could put the blade in either way and try it. As for drilling, just a sharp bit and a drill press to keep it from squirreling around.

Do I have to make a groove for the string.

thanks for the comment. No the curve in the shape does the job. If you're making a straight sided one then a groove is helpful. See my folding saw. I make the groove with a chain saw file. Thanks again
