Recorded at the Cavern Club in Mathew Street, Liverpool.
This was filmed during our last residency show at the Cavern Club back in 2016. Our 100th show at the cellar of all cellars. A memory that, given the current circumstances, feels even more precious to us now.

You know what's impressive here is that these aren't Beatles' imitators or a tribute band, but genuine covers, capturing the excitement of the originals and adding something different, notably the female vocals, offering a new dimension to songs you've probably heard hundreds of times. It's a difficult thing to pull off, but they do it with class.

A good example of what you're saying is the really refreshing and unique guitar solo. I'm not familiar with the original song, so I don't know what the original solo sounded like, but this solo was really a style that I had never heard before - terribly refreshing to listen to.

@@user-kq1hg3eo6l These girls (and guys) infuse the song with a freshness that is all their own. They breathe a new life and energy into every cover they do. The Beatles haven't actually 'done' much since 1970 and although it's almost sacrilegious to say so, not every succeeding generation since then are fans. Which is why superb musicians like the ML twins are doing a very worthwhile job of presenting Beatles songs, very respectfully but in their own vibrant way.

When I saw The Beatles in Sydney Australia, June 1964, this was the only song that could be heard above the screaming. And then, only the chorus. But hearing this played so well on hallowed ground brings a shiver to my spine. Wonderful.

I'm told the original Cavern Club was destroyed to make way for a metro, and the original bricks sold off back in the 1970-'s as memorabilia The new, rebuilt club is not on exactly the same spot, although close to it.

They are great. Something about that earlier sound it was just innocent and free spirit. I have not seen one single female vocalist replicate the old classic rock tunes until I ran into these two girls. They rock!

Sheer perfection. I was transported back to an 11 year old girl, sitting in the car listening to WLS radio on Sunday night of nothing but Beatles. I lived for that hour every week. Anyone else remember that? 1965-1966

WLS, station of choice in Nashville back then (after dark of course) Ron Riley, and also Art Roberts. I still remember the commercials for Heaven Scent, Tom McCann shoes, The Chicago Sun Times, etc.

Curious One 50,000 watts will go a long way. Could pick up 890 in Chicago while on spring break in Pensacola, Florida.....think it was 1968, maybe 1969. It's so true.. this is on the surface a rather simple song, but the Beatles had a way of putting in a few twists that make it great. And what a great performance of it by the Mona Lisa twins! They get it :-)

I love the words to her song here. It tells a story of deep meaning about life in general. Seize the great moments in life as they come to you and have no regrets. Dont let anyone push you down or push your buttons to hurt you. Be yourself and go after destiny let no obstacles stop you either. Joan Jett is priceless talent and a timeless entertainer. It's no the original Cavern and the band is is not the Beatles, but the electricity and joy of their performance is pure magic. Anything by the MonaLisa Twins is definitely worth checking out.

Saw the Beatles live twice in 1963 so big big fan. Now we have these amazing talented gorgeous girls bringing it all back - just part of their amazing repertoire and latest videos that keep the 60s years alive and well. 'Fab' 'Gear' ! Have often visited the Cavern but was not there for this gig... :o(

My new favorite of Mona singing lead. Incredible phrasing and deep passion in her voice along with her superb guitar playing pushes this past my previous favs of 'Revolution' and 'The Last Time' .... both showcases of Mona's vocal talents. Thanks again for sharing these performances.

Great comments all. These two are great fun to watch as they produce very good music. Aside from the wonderful rendition, it was nice to see this done at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. My wife and I have visited the club a few years ago and the added joy of being where the Beatles actually played made this performance feel that much better.

Being a twin also, I can relate to Mona seems a lot more enthused but Lisa is as well. Lisa does not burst out as Mona does and that is just fine with me. Lisa is more huggy/touchy with Mona, if you have not noticed. Both girls are a joy to me as I can relate 100% to them. Check Lisa's reaction at the end in this video. I've been listening to you girls for a few years now, and i only realized a few days ago that your names are Mona and Lisa and i felt so dumb. I always thought you called yourself because of the picture, i can't even fathom how the hell did it not even cross my mind. You're parents are geniuses for naming you like that. The story goes that Lisa was born first and the parents didn’t know what sex the twin would be. They only had a boy’s name ready. When it was a second girl, they went with Mona.

Sure she's your favorite. But why? Lisa hands down is better singer, and better guitarist, and better all round musician. But Kudos to Mona for vast improvement in her guitar work, since the beginning.

Mona’s my favorite unless Lisa is singing and then she’s my favorite unless Mona is singing harmony and then she’s my favorite unless Lisa’s doing a cool guitar riff and then she’s my favorite unless Mona smiles at the camera and then she’s my favorite.

You ladies are inspiring me to pick up my Gretsch, set my amp to '64 British and play some Beatles! I'd pick up my Rickenbacher, but I don't have one.
