Just my opinion but I think you could have avoided all of that by just not speaking to anybody. Let the train crew call the police if they are so worried about trespassers who were far enough away from the tracks to be of no concern.

Dang that’s crazy! Trespassers aren’t cool. I used to deal with stuff like that. Grabbed my phone that was 4 feet from a train cause it was starting to blow back there and ever since then everyone started hating on me and every time that someone trespassed or someone did something. They always blame it on me and I had nothing To do on it. All because I didiint wanna pay 1000+ dollars but I feel ya, but it’s best just to let the crew deal with it and just watch it. I get how it’s funny but it’s best to ignore their actions and move on :)

What is the issue with that Matt fella? I certainly didn't see, or hear, anything that could be considered bothering him. Why are so many people in such a hurry to call the police when they are the offending individual? Good move not getting the minor trespassers on film. Sorry so many people online and in person have to give you such a difficult time just trying to film trains. I would suggest ignoring them and keep filming! Let me say first I enjoy your train videos but I certainly think you could have handled the situation a little different if there's people trespassing someplace Don't worry about it let him trespass people that own the property don't like it they'll call the police as for the other guy with the scooter just ignore them Don't say anything to him and yes I know you can videotape him on public roads and stuff but be considerate and don't unless he starts something just ignore him walk away Best thing you can do

A little Sunday switching to liven things up. About 2 weeks ago when you followed the Freight South it set out 20 GACX covered hoppers at Pembine which didn't make it to Crivitz so it's possible CN took them east to use at Kremlin for loading Roofing granules. There also were 23 gondolas next to them at that time and there had been the comments about shipping ore residue in the near future. Suddenly there's a squeeze for gondolas as you have to keep enough for Algoma Steel pipe loading back in Gladstone. Cars for that residue need to have no holes plus thoroughly cleaned out while Alter cars should be free of debris and they also have to keep the cars seperate for scrap ties. So 22 gons now start their trek North. Since kids have been using the right of way for decades and it's not posted even since the murders there it would take a real concerted effort between the railroad and police to make that area off-limits

It's NOT illegal to film people and trains on a public road, sidewalk, etc. Funny how so many people are unaware of this. I would not worry about it. You filmed the train on public land and warned some people about being on railroad land, All good.

You were right! This was an awesome video! I tried to analyze why I like this railroad so much as opposed to a large one, and I think it's because it is so small that I feel I can know everyone. You can't know everyone on the Burlington Northern but here it *seems* as if you can. You bring it right into our living rooms. And as an aside, as another commenter mentioned, I first watched it on Facebook.

Railroad property is NOT public right of way!!!!! It is PRIVATE land. Those kids are the ones beimg all illegal. Filming a train from a public road is just fine. If some idiot is trespassing on private land and gets in the film, tough crap.

IMO, alot to do over little. Are there any No Trespassing there anywhere? Second, how wide is the RR ROW? Of course, this can vary with location. Checking with perhaps your Counties GIS maps could reveal alot of good information for a particular location.

Update on the iron ore fines. Crew was screening ore last week. I seen the trucks at the old mine site Monday morning 7/15/24. Doubles called trains so I'm thinking should be loading gondolas in Channing this week..

Jason, I learned a long time ago that 'intent' is one thing, and 'perception' is another. Your beneficial action (advising the trespassers of the train crew discussing them) was perceived by them as something else altogether. The thing to do is immediate full disclosure and disclaimer ("hey guys, I'm not here to film you or embarrass you, I'm just out filming trains , but I just wanted to let you know the train crew is talking about you trespassing on railroad property. Be careful, and have a good day!") or something like that. As for Matt, well, all I can say is be careful around him, and avoid interacting with him whenever possible - he's trouble. You keep doing what you do, there are more people supporting you than there are haters. Don't let their insecurities get to you.

I think ida been an a.h. if you made it seem like you said and cared i was trespassing. You were letting them know they were being discussed and they copped an attitude but i think they misunderstood.
