You seem to have missed the fact that Wilzig, the scientist saved CX404's life, as she was born underweight and was meant to be incinerated. You later see that she's indeed not the brightest dog, as she struggles to follow basic commands while her cousins and siblings are perfectly trained and obedient...

The broken water chip in episode 3 is a callback to fallout one, your vaults water chip breaks and you have to leave the vault to find a replacement.

"Getting sidetracked" is pretty much the main purpose of the fallout games. You may have a very important family related quest to finish, but you will always get side tracked by the events in the game. And its those endless side quests that make Fallout so much fun, and irresistible, and replayable!

What I really hate is that we didn't get a "name image" for CX 404 like we did for Lucy, Maximus or the Ghoul. I understand they wanted to build up fear as soon as the ghoul "kills" CX, but she deserved it. I love this good girl
