There's one thing that you pointed out very well: It's mostly not the creator who is terrible, it's the fans. Sure, there are some cases in which the creators are at fault with becoming lazy or cringe or something else, but most of the time, it's the toxic, horrible fandom.

This happened to me once. I posted a video and got quite a few comments saying I copied the whole concept of it from another Gachatuber. I checked their channel and their video came out a week after mine and had totally different storylines. The only similarly was the titles and even those were a little different.

I get these all the time when I show OC designs I got Ideas from to give them credit. You can use it, but just change it up a bit. so people won't think you are copying/tracing the OC. One of my close friend got at me saying I copied her when I decided to make a new oc cause the way she used the wings inspired me and we just so happened to both use purple and the same belt accessory. Apart from that they were completely different and I didn’t even think about her oc other than the wings, so I don’t think she had much of a right to be mad.
