After Minecraft with industrial mods and Factorio with the bob + angel mods, it became the norm for me to process ore through several stages, starting with crushing. I see a crusher and immediately look for an opportunity to increase processing efficiency.

Great minds think alike, I’m sure a lot of people with experience in these games will have the same thoughts but I thought a lot may also not be aware 😁

Edit: I wrote this before finishing the video. And you say towards the end it's a 2:1 ratio between crushers and furnaces so good job on that! Great video. I discovered this myself. You can do 2 furnaces to one crusher using this method. I've got 8 crushers to 16 furnaces. 320 in, 480 out. So got that twice for Xeno and Technum and then using balancers I get 3 full 320 belts out onto my bus.

I think its slightly better to leave room for expanding smelters and crushers (you'll need it as you advance on tech) and the ratio will change, so probably just use slightly longer conveyor than just straight feeding 2 smelters with 1 crusher. Just a little bit future proofing to make upgrading less of a pain. I just place one line of crushers and then conveyor the clean ore in middle of 2 smelter rows, which then empty on other sides. It's ofc up to each individual how they want to arrange their smelters, be it single line or more.

@@Krypt0nite Depends. You can try to plan for, let's say... 6 T3 belts of plates and rods as their output (1280 ore/minute input, 11520 molten ore/minute output, pass that through a "totally reasonable" amount of casting machines and have fun). Planning space for the buildings themselves, though... have fun with that. The build is humongous and you have to do it twice.

@@Krypt0nite i just made an ignium highway 10x10 chunks around my main prod base where i collect all nearby ores including deep mines (and fracking ores soon). two way lanes, 4 per direction with simple loadbalacing around every exit towards productions like a steel factory and power plant. the loadbalacing keeps the flow stable, with all the lane inputs and backbuffers around the map, i literally never run out of ores and ultimately out of power. fixing power issues too late is absolutely brain damaging. it works insanely well, with multiple buffers around every mine, its pretty much failsafe. if i notice my buffers getting empty and my belts are cold, i have enough time to fix the issue until my power shut off. i can load up to 2560 ores/min in two direction (5120 ores/min with loadbalacing). i already build my main power plant with ~120 boilers and steam engines, total power 432MW. only 32 are active, rest is ready to use if my power consumption raise later. no doubt i will never add another steam engine again. game is absolutely addictive, already worried how much time i spent there no cap..
