As a driver, I think next mayor should fix the potholes on chestnut st. and walnut st. I suffered enough for panic braking.😂 The road conditions have been remained for years.

Photos from my great-grandparents of the 1920s and ‘30s, and the streets of the city were immaculate. Was a recent hard lesson for my kid as we walked down Market and had someone nodding off, standing up in the middle of the sidewalk. Big task for upcoming mayor.

We have a handful of these candidates that have been on the city council for several years. Ask yourself what have they done to help ?? Not much in my book. They voted yay for all the current mayor wanted. With that being said David Oh should be the next mayor. We all know tho will never get a Republican. But at this point what do we have to lose ?? 10 billion dollar plan with a 6 billion dollar budget, the math is fuzzy.

I was hit by an SUV while cleaning the ice and snow off my car. The police lost the police report I called NE detectives they never called me back and then I called the DA’s office and they never called me back they’re all worthless. Promises and misappropriations of money the police won’t stop people riding dirt bikes on the streets you can not stop and frisk people just because someone thinks something and hold you up from going to work or to the doctors office for no reason. I was harassed by police officers for no reason at all but they won’t chase or lock up mobs of people who are causing problems or destroying property. Blah blah blah. The schools and education system are run by the government and pharmaceutical industries. They don’t even teach the proper medical curriculum because it’s dictated by the pharmaceutical industry. Teach natural medicine and cures not putting bandaids on the problem. Cures not treating symptoms. Elected officials should be there not appointed people.

This happened a few years ago. At the time, Cherelle Parker was Councilwoman and East Oak Lane, where I live, was a constituency of hers. There is a vacant lot at a small, narrow intersection in East Oak Lane, apparently owned by a man acquainted with Parker in some way. Close to the intersection are an elementary school and its playground, a church, East Oak Lane Public Library, and a fire house. The intersection is zoned for single family houses on lots, a residential neighborhood. The man who owns the vacant lot wanted to build an apartment house on the lot, and he needed a zoning variance to do that. Parker tried to force a zoning variance so that he could build it. When I say “force,” I mean she hit a wall of unanimous opposition from East Oak Lane constituents. There is a reason why that intersection is zoned as it is. An apartment house would create traffic too heavy for that intersection and those streets. It would also put at risk for traffic injury children walking to and from the school, the playground, the library, and home. It would delay fire trucks and ambulances heading to emergencies. Parker knew it. As I said, we fought the variance, for the better part of a year. Parker would not relent. She would not meet with us. She did not respond when constituents contacted her about it. When the woman who was president of our civic association did reach her on the phone, Parker was disrespectful to her. The fight played out primarily on the East Oak Lane Next Door site and two Zoom calls, without Parker participating. We didn’t have the costly team of lawyers and engineers that Parker and the lot owner had. We won. Zoning officials sided with us, as was clear, that intersection couldn’t support the project the lot owner wanted to put there. This situation gave us a preview of how Parker would treat the whole city of constituents if she were to become mayor. IMO she cannot be trusted with the power of the mayor’s office. The lot owner was claiming that the apartment building would be “low rent” housing for seniors. One person on Next Door checked into that and found that the rents would have been the going rate for rents in that neighborhood. Also, the lot owner claimed that there were no lots anywhere else in the entire city where he could build that apartment building. That is just not true. The whole situation reeked of dishonesty. Since Parker has been campaigning for mayor, I’ve seen other actions of hers that concern me. Many of her donors and supporters have been involved in the pay-to-play rot that has done so much harm to the city. That tells me that Parker already is awash in it, and she would double down on it as mayor. Also, she sells herself as a champion of Black communities. She once called out Alan Domb for, as she said, “the way you treat the Black communities.” We can tell you from experience how she treated our Black community in this zoning variance matter. Not good.

There’s potholes all over the streets, trash on my street because people walk from Wawa and throw their trash in the street. Businesses have no parking and they park on my street and there’s never any parking. People who don’t live on my street shouldn’t park on my street.

I like Alan Domb He doesn’t think that criminals should be getting there after repeat offending. These judges out here don’t seem to care they bail out a serial killer they bail out mass shooters, murderers, stick up kings they don’t care. and I like Rebecca Rynhart, She wants to clean up Kensington and she seems to have a plan, she also had a lot of data, so that means she did her homework. Was an undecided voter who was leaning toward Jeff Brown but attending the debate and seeing how well Parker handled herself left a huge impression on me. I'm gonna be voting for Parker, the candidate with most experience.

Coming into this debate I like Rhynhart the most, let's see if I still feel this way after this first debate.

Where's maria? Overall, it is clear that political cheap shots aren't appealing to Philly voters. I'm a Rebecca rhynhart fan but it's clear that everyone is afraid of Jeff Brown's support from the black community. Alan Domb won this event in my opinion. By discussing the details and being transparent on what he can and can't do, it shows that he'll be an effective leader.

Helen Gym once again resonates with family, community and businesses partnering to resolve the city problems. Every time the candidates are asked a question about crime she is the only one that includes the family ( especially kids) as part of the process. Law enforcement starts in the home. Helen knows, bc she was a teacher, that you have to have a strong home, school and community association to address the problems in the long term. Hiring more police, cameras, arrests etc. is symptom management but it does not address the underlying problem which is the disease; lack of education, poverty, drugs, behavior health and struggling parents. Helen gets it! The rest of the candidates are sticking to their scripts, and aside from Amen Brown, none of them addressed the youth problem directly.

I say call the National guard to monitor the high crime neighborhoods until it is under control, sitting in a police car is not going to make it, have the guards walk the street since these punks want war, bring it to them

They need a Mayor Like Rizzo and Goode or Even Sheriff Grady of Polk County who are really tough on crime! They seem soft the candidates. Let’s make this city really one of Brotherly Love.
