One moment I noticed in the Chelsea game, was before the build up to the final goal, Odegaard mapped out a way to beat the press from noticing how Chelsea players were pressing, by keeping the ball until he passed it back to Raya, knowing that Gabriel and Saliba would split wide and knew the Chelsea players would continue to follow them, and then he asked to receive the ball back from Raya and then played it through the new space created to pass to Tomiyasu, which eventually resulted in him going up to assist the final goal. It's things like this that stats will never show.

He just didn't want to fight with Modric and Kroos in stacked Madrid team. Didn't have the mentality to fight, like Fede have. He wanted to exit, went to second tier team and grow there. His choice. Maybe he would be even better with all the knowledge Luka and Toni could pass on him but he was too afraid to fight for his position in Madrid. Valverde stayed, grow as a player and now he is approximately 2 seasons away from being captain of the biggest club in the world. Odegaard is great in Arsenal, but didint have the guts to fight for place in Madrid.

@@strollic5162 dude, He went to then second tier team. Ofc Arsenal grow last few years, but They didn't win premier league for 20 years and they never were champions league winner. So You have to call Arsenal second tier when compare to Real Madrid.
@strollic5162Ай бұрын
@@kamiloos4393 I’m not comparing Arsenal to Real Madrid. Real Madrid are obviously the biggest club in the world. But honestly, I don’t think Arsenal are second tier. There a few factors why Arsenal haven’t won the premiere league for 20 years and never the UCL: 1. Billionaire owners came to the EPL in 2003. Chelsea and then Man City had owners that would spend millions more than anyone else and make the league even more competitive. If Roman Ambramovich came to Valencia or Atletico Madrid it would make it more difficult for Real Madrid to win the league no? 2. I would say La Liga has a big 3, but the EPL has a big 6. Which means at least 2 top teams won’t be in the UCL every year. 3. Arsenal had Arsene Wenger as manager for around 20 years. Great league coach, but was too arrogant in the UCL, refused to change tactics against better teams. He tried to play football in the Camp Nou when Messi, Iniesta and Xavi were at Barca. Arsene Wenger is the only manager to manage Arsenal in the UCL and he was a poor Champions League manager. Almost every other club has had multiple managers. If other great managers managed Arsenal in the UCL, they would have won by now. If Carlo Ancelotti managed Arsenal in the UCL in 2006, they would have won 100%. It’s no coincidence Arsenal reached their first UCL final when Arsenal played more cautious football. Arteta has a much better chance of winning the Champions League, because he understands and likes to use tactics. 4. Watch and see the same happen to Manchester United. It’s 11 years since they won the league and it will become 20. The EPL is too competitive.
