The trick to avoiding pot warpage is to keep your temperature low and be patient. I've used the same pot for many baking projects without warpage. Just small flames (if any) and hot coals. Too much fire is not what you desire. lol! The best way to get it straight is to put one side on the ground and your body weight above it and put more pressure on it than you think to get it to respond.

I like this idea but I have settled on hammered steel ball about 18mm (3/4”) the hammed balls are good as they don’t roll about in the same way that smooth steel balls would. Ceramic baking beads also work well and are lighter but can be a nuisance to handle.

I like your idea, especially with the end result fitting to the bottom of the pot - I haven't seen it before, so good stuff in my book. Some if you got for a version 2.0. I do some lapidary rock based cutting, and I can suggest a diamond based wet trim saw to cut through that stone almost like butter, a wet tile saw (diamond blade) would work too. Just like with the grinder though, you'll lose width of material with each cut equal to the saw blade's thickness. For a saving material example: on the trim saw we're running a .025" width blade, so minimal loss to stones. Both wet cutters will also let you do the beveling work, just take your time. You'll also be skip having to trace your lines around the edges of the stone, and you can just notch into each of your lines on the ending side, spin around, and cut down to the end notches so the final break-off moment is in between the sides and not on the edge. Happy camping.

The Billy pots warp, regardless of any thermal mass placed inside. Steve from firebox stoves recommeds just applying force, and bending it into a more circular shape....that works well enough to be fair. Pizza stone is a cool idea 👍 I use baking beads... designed to hold down unfilled pastry bases (for quiche etc.), for the initial "blind bake".... They're a uniform size, lighter than ball bearings (which Steve tried) ...but they will still roll around. All the best 👍

Sweet. I've got some of those. I was going to try putting a bread warming tile in the bottom. Terracotta.

I bought a couple bags of half in and 1 inch steel balls to give them a try. My concern is knowing they could roll out when I open the lid if it's at the lower end of the slant. This is a wonderfully resourceful. Very very well done.

Another Outstanding Instructional Video, I just received my 3qt Billy Can last week, When you Cut the Pizza Plate into Strips, What was the Device you used to cut the Strips, Do you Think if I was Very Careful, could I use my 4 1/2 Grinder with a Diamond Blade, I have a Chop Saw or a Skill saw, or a Jig saw, I might have missed, when I was watching, how you cut up the Stone, I wish I had a Wet Ceramic Saw. Thank you Brother for Sharing. Sincerely your freind from Mo Rick God Bless 🙏

I just used a grinder with a steel cutting wheel. Definitely use a diamond blade. To cut down on the vibration during cutting, I placed a microfiber between the workbench and the pizza stone before I clamped it down with a wood block. I made sure to score one side at least 1.5 - 2 mm deep before I cut all the way through. This cuts down on the chipping. Also, make sure to have something soft to catch it when it falls. The pizza stone is strong but if it falls the right way it will crack and split in half. I can't speak for those other methods you mentioned but would think that any process to cut cermaic should work. Cheers!

I used a hand grinder and lots of prayers! I got away with using a steel cutting wheel but a diamond cutting wheel is probably best. Thanks for watching, cheers!
