Friends, our first reading from the book of Wisdom makes an extraordinarily important observation that’s of both theological and philosophical significance-namely, that the very fact that something exists means that it has been loved into being. In light of that, we can read our famous Gospel about Zacchaeus as a story of the infinite love and mercy of God pouring into someone’s life-and the conversion that follows.

Wow this hit hard. When I was about 13 (I’m 71 now) I stopped going to Church. Stopped believing in God. And my life went to pieces from that moment. It never occurred to me that rejecting God had anything to do with it. I’ll spare you the details but I was a terrible sinner. It was only a few months ago that I heard God knocking at my door & my mind opened up the door a tiny crack … and the grace of God was like a tsunami! I was overwhelmed and overcome and deeply sorry for all my sins. I went to confession (whew, a long confession) and then Communion. I’ve never been happier. All the things I wanted in life (and searched for in all the wrong places, as the song goes) are now mine. These are the important things: deep contentment & peace. The superficial things I thought were so important no longer matter. Praise be to God and I pray for anyone reading this to know that no matter how evil your sins or how long you’ve rejected God, He still loves you so much and wants you to let Him in. So let Him in.

A Catholic missionary once told me, simply, “You are loved.” I answered him with my typical aloof manner, “Well, I try to be lovable.” He looked me straight in the eye and said, “It isn’t what you do, it’s what you are!” It completely changed my aspect. Thanks, Zach!

It reminds me of a passage from St. Faustina's diary: "Let no soul, even the most miserable, fall prey to doubt; for as long as one is alive, each one can become a great saint, so great is the power of God's grace." Keep praying for the lost because as long as they are alive, God's grace can find them and create a great saint out of them! All it takes is a spark, and God will do the rest!

Extraordinary! I’ll never forget the day I had my first real spark of interest as an adult. Christ fully entered my house and took over. Sadly, there were many times when I attempted to take my life back (as we sinners do) and re-enter the world, but with age comes wisdom and it’s happening less and less, thank God. I know now that this is so we are reminded of the love we’re missing when we sin and turn away from our Lord and Savior. Jesus truly is the way, the truth, and the life! Thank you Bishop Barron for your extraordinary insight and God bless you too! Blessings to everyone!

Thank you, Bishop Barron. IMHO, you walk the talk every Sunday with your sermon. I've seen you on videos, after agreeing to debate athiests. You not only submit yourself to the pushback, you respond with the very love you preach. That, in my book, is walking the talk. And that walk the talk is a message which reverberates in a sinner to humble tears. Stumble and rise. The stumbling is the flesh. The rise is the grace of God's love which you preach each Sunday. Gratitude. Be well, Bishop Barron.

Bishop, Likely we will never meet on this side of eternity. But I have always appreciated your teaching even though I am not Catholic. In fact, I have even used your teaching on the Lord's Prayer in a confirmation class. But Bishop, life has been hard for me recently. But in the difficulty, I see the work of God's hand. And God is working through you. I have never felt loved. I wrestle and struggle with being loved, with knowing or thinking I could be loved. But I am finally starting to get it. God actually loves us. He loves us freely and not just as a constraint of His nature. He was not constrained to love us into being, and yet here we are and we continue. Because of His continual willed love. Thank you Bishop!

So true Bishop, God's love is found even the most mundane objects. Like a table for example. God willed the carpenter who crafted the table into being out of love. God willed the truck driver who drove the table to the store into being out of love. God willed for all the people working at the factory that manufactured the truck that drove the table to the store into being out of love. God created all the materials all the natural resources of the world that led to something as mundane as a table. This rabbit hole can go all the way back to creation itself, God's love is everywhere. Thanks so much for the sermon Bishop.

Marvellous! The Holy Spirit was speaking powerfully through you, Bishop, at this time when in every part of the world a raging hatred is laying waste lives and livelihoods. To think that God loves Putin, and Xi, and Kim whatever, and so on, is difficult, but I must do it. If only to appreciate the full measure of how much He loves me. As I sit here, crippled, running out of time, oppressed by the thought of all that needs to be done but lacking physical strength and intelligent, willing helpers, I have to cling to the Cross, remembering that my sinfulness made it necessary; thinking of the Mother of God standing beside it, silent, feeling every hate-filled word, every nail... And why did it happen? For Love. Unmerited by me. As you are a blessing to us, who hear you, may you long be blessed by God. 🙏

I kept on listening to your homily more than once and felt sorry that it was over. This is what the good news of the gospel does!

A spark! A consciousness that God speaks the word into existence at every moment. An eternal self creating of space and time. The undiscovered existence of His Love and Grace. The omnipresence of the Lord. Realizing that everything is one. A consciousness of God's present Love and being thankful for it. Plug yourself into the Living Lord!

A short while ago, another Pharisee and tax collector (Luke 18:10) prayed in the TEMPLE, where the tabernacle was located. My priest's homily emphasized that God was present in it. As I read Luke 19:1-9. preparing for today's Mass, I realized that Zacchaeus went directly to Jesus---again, directly to God. His house was to be "invaded" by Christ, just as Peter's boat was, and fishing for Peter was never the same.

This is my favorite episode right here. Awesome. If I get anybody to ask me to send 'em one video about Christ, it's this one. Or one of those CS Lewis doodles, those are awesome.

What an absolute load of baseless rubbish, what other industry can you talk so much waffle and get away with it like the charlatan here. He doesn't know if this god he pretends to know so we'll even exists. Same old thoughtful looks off into the distance, throw in a bit of Latin but it comes down to this idiot talking about what he cannot possible know. 'Loved into existence' how ridiculous.

One of the best sermons from Bishop Barron, and I have heard most of them (and they are all great). What he says in this video can be taken into the world as we interact with those that God has put in our paths, perhaps for this very reason.
