On the IHRA definition, one of the ironies is that the IHRA definition was/ is rarely used to support accusations of anti-Semitism; in all of the accusations of anti-Semitism doing the rounds when Corbyn was leader of the Labour Party, it was rare (in fact I don't remember one example) for the accusers to work from the IHRA definition to demonstrate a claim of anti-Semitism. If only the people making the accusations had been that rational and logical! But if they had been capable of that level of critical thinking then almost invariably the IHRA definition would not have supported the claims. It was mostly appeals to emotion, smearing and conflation of criticism of Israel with targeting Jews for criticism because they were Jews.

The same de-humanisation of a race of people was happening again, the Israeli government were also de-humanising the Israeli people into accepting and normalising the situation. Mr Meyer was not being AS for expressing his horror nor was Mr Corbyn was not being AS when he supported him. The Israeli government is working very hard to prevent people being able to criticise their actions.
