From IRCC Minister Mr. Marc Miller's news conference today, he prefers tradesmen; people who can work in labor and construction. Schooling and PGWP will be adjusted to accommodate tradesmen (apprenticeship) and health care workers. Graduates are not meeting the need of the economy. It is uncertain time ahead for international students.

The three English universities (McGill, Concordia, and Bishop's) in Quebec are pissed. Quebec is going to double the tuition of out-of-province Canadian students' tuition next year. There will be decline in enrollment.

It is hard to find jobs (after graduation) with a 1 year certificate. Fees in Memorial University of Newfoundland is reasonable for master degrees.

Please keep abreast with the latest development from IRCC. In 2024, IRCC plans to make 3 changes: (1) all schools will need to submit their issued LOA's (Letter of Acceptance) to IRCC; (2) a trusted schools list will be created by Fall 2024; (3) PGWP will change based on market conditions and immigration targets. All these will need to be implemented before 2025 federal election. Student cap is shelved at this time.

Choose an institution, not a city. Big cities are the best for students. I never regret choosing Seneca. I know a lot of people who live in relatively small cities, and there are no as such opportunities as Seneca is providing me. So please choose an institution not a city please. There are a lot of opportunities in Toronto. I never regret it. 🧿❤️

Choose a province before choosing the school. If you have to rely on PNP for ITA, then Ontario may not be the right province. OINP has stringent employer requirements.

I did the same thing, I was thinking of going to London, But when I saw the college list, Seneca was on the 1st rank l, and I chose it rather than going to London.

Im working for BC employer remotely from Quebec. my offer letter does say that my base location is Vancouver but can work from my home in Quebec. It is hard to find jobs with your specialty. Think twice before coming and wasting your money. PG Diplomas don't help much.

Best intake is Sept. If you can't wait, then May is fine. Unless your studies lead you to a prioritized occupation, avoid Ontario.

Software engineering is a 4-yr Bachelor degree leading to licensed Professional Engineer eventually. The university undergraduate program is CEAB accredited. CEAB=Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. Software engineering technology is a 2-yr college diploma. It leads to a software technician or programmer job. In Canada, "engineer" is regulated by law.
