We take on one of the most notorious 4x4 tracks in Australia, The Bloomfield track in the Daintree rainforest! you start this track is brutal at cape tribulation where you have to drive 31% steep hills and descents and some beautiful river crossings. To add a layer of difficulty we did it in the pouring rain!

I don't want to sound like a smarty pants, but back in the mid 2010s, I worked for an express bus service up there, and I regularly drove arear-wheel-drive. 22-seat Coaster bus up the Bloomfield Track, right up until the wet season closed the track. I lived in Bloomfield (Ayton really).

Camera never does the angle justice. If you hang something from the rear view mirror like air freshener or chain then can usually use that as a gauge on the camera. Used that many times when filming for friends. Hope it helps

Cape Tribulation is so beautiful, Iconic Aussie destination. The Lions Den Hotel is for sale for $4.5 mill (maybe a bit more now that your sticker is there 😂)

Good to meet you at the open day last week end. Sad to hear that the CREB track was closed and you couldn’t do it. Hope it wasn’t too much of a crack on why the Bloomfield not CREB. Yes I have done it several times including in the dark in my 1958 Landrover. Freaked my missus out driving it a few years ago in our Hilux when a bit wet so I made her drive. Forgot to ask why you always have one van leg at the back facing back and one forward. Can’t wait to try out my new iTechworld batteries in my Urban. Enjoying your videos, have been watching since your first van. Brings back memories of lots of my trips over the years. Even though I have now retired from teaching, I have slowed a little on pushing the limits like I used to. When Sarah gets too clucky one day and you can no longer fight the need for kids don’t stop travelling. We never held back and the kids benefited. Keep going, love your sense of humour. Hope the flight back to Darwin was good. Thanks for the appearance in Brissie. Jeff

Love the Bloomfield track. First drove it on 1984 the day after it opened. We were coming back from the cape & heard it opened so took a detour to check it out. There had been rain & apparently the vehicle with the officials for the opening got bogged. No cement on the hills back then.

Was interesting because there was a wide area of cleared bush each side of the new section of track. Seemed pretty mild because the only road to the top in those days was the telegraph track. No bridge on the Wenlock & some people still drove the Jardine rather than use the ferry.❤

Loved the Bloomfield track when I pedaled it on my mountain bike on the way to the top in 1995 yep, the Cowie range is steep. I remember walking almost all of that

Did the Bloomfield up to Laura in a FJ40 cruiser,35 yrs ago. Going up steep loose rocky tracks was pretty hairy, but views were very specky. Enjoy Savannah way, that is one tough road. Keep the manic coming.

Only just got to see this one, after grtting bavk from a Cape trip. Good vid. My mates and I were just leaving when you showed up at Wujil Wujil falls (You guys called Bloomfield falls), and the Lions Den too on our way north. You definitely show cased it well on a pretty overcast and rainy day.

We have done Bloomfield track a year ago and with the steep sections sealed it is a breeze now. When we were there there was a local in a sedan who drove without any problem.

Look into the left room, my original Lions Den hangs from the Top of the roof that I would wear for 4 years straight pulling people from that track to that pub.

Imagine what that was like before they concreted those hills I remember watching some Roothy dvd’s (you used to get them with the monthly magazine) where they were doing it back in the day wet and clay Some history at the Lions Den isn’t there, it’s also a great place to stay Great episode, get up there on the dust 👍

The Daintree is such a great place. You never used to be able to take any photos or videos of the falls at Wujal Wujal as it is secret womens business.

The camera never shows how steep tracks are in person. Enjoy watching your adventures. Have been on some pretty steep stuff off road. Not sure how steep. Think the steepest on road hills we've driven are about 9% in the US Rockies.

What if I'm not wearing any underwear?? 🤙 Btw I was checking out your tachometer or rpm gauge while you were doing those inclines Keelan you built a beast of a car Leroy's got a kick ass system you weren't even close to red lining it. I recon you coulda done that with a cold brewskie in one hand and your tackle box in the other 🎉🎉. Epic drone shots though, those waterfalls are screaming white water rafting!
