Hey everyone! I’ve been on the hunt for mods to improve High School Years gameplay and the new Wants & Fears system ever since I bought the pack so that I can start my let’s play! I’ve found these mods most helpful and wanted to show them to you all so you can have a better game experience as well!

I love the sims 4 modding community but ea should be embarrassed by the amount of work that’s almost required to make this game enjoyable

agreed! I love mods, but I’d love it more if the game was just good on its own without them. I hope things get better in the future

Every single one of my sims have the same fear that never goes away. They're ALL afraid of a dead end job - teens and adults. So they're always depressed everyday coming back from work no matter what they're doing. My teen sim got the fear after her first day of work as a simsfluencer. It was so stupid.

that is SO frustrating wow. have you tried the better fears mod to see if it helps? also I believe MissyHissy is working on her hopes & fears mod which would completely overhaul the system (and likely be way better) so look forward to that!

Me tooo! It's so annoying when they're stomping around as adults 😤 and for me, the talking about it to someone else doesn't help 😒

*My Sim:* "Oh noes my job is so sad and boring and dead-end, my life is so awful" *Me:* "You are a level 10 scientist Extraterrestrial Explorer, you dress like a supervillain and go to space on a regular basis. You invented a portal that takes you to an alien planet. You, as *part of your job,* attended a party with aliens last week and set up your *clone who you also made as part of your job* with a hot alien you met at aforementioned space party." *My Sim:* "Woe is me." (fr though that fear should be fully disabled at like lvl 7 and above, and should be less common starting at lvl 4 maybe)

I agree, they aren’t the best unfortunately and I was really looking forward to them when they first announced :( luckily the mods really do make a difference for me! thank you for watching ☺️❤️

Yes tweaks that actually makes it possible for Parenthood to work with High School Years. Like why would it be so hard for them to make it compatible. I wonder if there is a mod to remove the body hair cause it looks more like sharpie scribbles and it looks cheap and lazy. I mean they have hair texture why could they not use that?

the hair textures are so bad :/ I’ve been using Luumia’s body hair still, someone separated it using the new body hair categories: javitrulovesims.tumblr.com/post/691171677265084416/body-hair-luumia-v5-redux#notes

as for disabling townies from spawning with the body hair in the game, I’m not 100% sure if this works for townies, but it’s disables it for randomized sims at least. simplyanjuta.tumblr.com/post/671289397075902464/cas-mod-presets-selection-for-randomized-sims#notes

I think Sims developers should watch this video in order to see what the High School Expanison Pack lacks. These mods add so much more depth to gameplay and many interactions and stuff should have come with the EP orignially. It is so not well thought through in general, all this shown in your video might have made the pack increase in value. It's a shame that you get so little and reduced gameplay for 40 Euros. I mean, the fun increase in the ferris wheel isn't a big deal, why didn't they come up with such basic things in the first place? It's good to have these mods, but it's a pain to install them separately and risk the game glitching and bugging. If the expansion packs were generally more thought through it would make such a difference.

I agree with everything you said and I wish they would! unfortunately I don’t think EA cares at this point because the foundation of the sims 4 base game is just bad, but they are making money off it so they will just continue to release more unsatisfactory content for it as long as people keep buying it. I wish they’d focus on fixing the game and stop releasing new content but I don’t think that will happen 😕

yes I definitely am as soon as I can! I’m glad to know people are looking forward to it 🥹 it’s taken a while to set up since I had to start a new save file (my existing ones weren’t working properly after the update) and also to test mods to figure out the best way to improve the gameplay! plus real life is always in the way too lol but it’s coming I promise! ☺️

Please I know this video is old but where did you get the hat your sims is wearing, I wear this type of hat like everyday and would love it for my sims 😭🫶🏾💗

Not sure if its just me but sometimes it does load the option to go to school with your sim or it would pop up at like 10:00 in game and not at 8:00 not sure if it has anything do with having to many mods but tbh idk how to fix this

hmmm do you change the game time speed at all? cause I think that can cause this. I’m not sure though! I’ve definitely had weird things like that happen before though so you’re not alone!

Does the game spawn more than 2 teachers? Would be nice to have 4 classrooms, one for each year level.

at this time, no, but I think Aramiteus (the more classmates mod creator) is looking into doing this for their next release! the latest update (from after I made this video) looks like now the teachers will alternate daily so that’s nice at least for now!

you don't need high school years for: teen interaction reactions, re-roll wants, whim overhaul, the personality mod, the hobby mod, or better fears mod. the other mods were made specifically for high school years. I hope this helps!

I need to test it more before I can actually recommend it, but I’ve been trying out LittleMsSam’s Dress Code Custom Lot Traits mod (the Lot Challenge Addon version), and setting the dress code to Everyday clothing and it seeeeems to be okay so far, a bit buggy, though

I cannot recommend it, no. I’m hoping to put together a let’s play so it’s something entertaining for others to watch, but if I wasn’t doing this channel I wouldn’t have bought it until it was on sale. don’t pay full price unless gameplay isn’t a priority for you! the mods make it more fun, but without mods it’s a no for me! and that’s no good :/

Not really. The trailer makes it look like it would be but the trailer is nothing but fill with lies and well if you have not update your game in a few weeks the High School Patch cause many problems and I heard that they still have not fixed everything from it. Yeah. Clearly EA does not care about the state the packs and patches are in as long as they make money. Sad really. I wanted a Pack like High School Years but they instead just release it in a broken or unfinished state like they did with Wedding Stories. Plus for whatever reason they did not bother to make the pack work with the other packs even though most Simmers would play with all packs on. I know I do.

Definitely wait til it’s on sale for a cheap price. Or until maybe they do some patch work. But so far the high school and pier itself isnt that great.

Its Not Not fix it. The wants and fears arent broken. The issue is the sims is a very personalised game so the devs programed it innaway that most people dont like I think mods dobt fix thibgs ther just make it possible to ajust it to a Personal style

the biggest issue I had with wants and fears is they didn’t add any from previous expansions/game/stuff packs, so to me this makes them unplayable without mods, as a majority of content I own wouldn’t trigger a want or fear. luckily since making this video missyhissy has come out with her wants and fears mod that is absolutely incredible and I definitely recommend it! I actually want to do a video on it at some point! ☺️

it is upsetting…the gameplay in the new pack is some of the most disappointing gameplay we’ve gotten. it makes me miss sims 2 lol. I feel bad for console players that can’t use mods because there’s just no helping the game without them 😕

Hello from Austria 🙂 Well, just found this video and your channel. Thanks for your great mod reviews. 🙏 They are very much needed! It’s a shame that modders have to create mods to make this addon playable. 😡 Every addon costs a lot of money and brings more errors in the game. So I don’t want to see EA advertising more new addons - they should fix the game asap ⛹️‍♂️ But regarding your mods review I found some great mods . Thumbs up 👍 and you have a new follower . Ah and would you be so kind to tell me where to find this new highschool with the 2 baristas etc ? AND another question pls: are you using reshade? If so can you tell me what preset it is?
