I ended up giving them back to lure him into a false sense of security. Then I went and stole his golden statue and put it in Marnie's room so she could actually have a version of Lewis that's committed.

Another thing you can do is wear the Trimmed version while Lewis is visiting Marnie. He'll be mortified but Marnie will giggle. And she'll giggle whenever you try to interact with her while wearing the Trimmed Version of the Shorts. Also, if you place a Staircase into your Pants Slot you'd get a pair of Trimmed Lucky Purple Shorts.

I liked Lewis… at first. Now I’ve seen him *raging* at Sam for skating, hiding his relationship with Marnie and not asking her to dance. The gold statue, while Possibly not super expensive for him to create, is still concerning. He doesn’t go mining, so he must be getting gold from villagers. He goes to Clint’s a Lot to collect the business tax, and I think he does the same at other businesses. While Joja is in town, we know these small businesses struggle. So Lewis (weekly, if not more often), collecting enough gold to have created this? That’s kinda dark. He yells at people a lot, very easily angered. He may not be the most evil person in the world, but he does seem to be at least slightly corrupt.

If you put a staircase in your pants slot you get the trimmed version, you can do this however many times you'd like so you can have an entire collection of Lewis' shorts for whatever purpose you'd like :)

I think he takes them back. If youre playing in 1.6, you can use a staircase in his home to get another pair. Be careful though, you cant hit any enemies that may spawn

Lewis did NOTHING wrong. Gold is actually incredibly common in Stardew Valley. One Gold Bar is actually worth less money (250g) than the lowest quality pumpkins (320g). His giant golden statue probably cost him less than the 2nd backpack upgrade from Pierre.

The crazy part about the shorts being a lure is that if they're placed in the first slot of the advanced rod your other lure becomes unbreakable

It's because he says that but never actually does anything to make it that way. Actions speak louder than words and his actions aren't saying anything good. He lets the community center go to ruin and doesn't do anything to fix it, he says he doesn't have enough money to fix the bus but he does have enough time and money to make a gold statue of himself, he treats Marnie horribly for no real reason, and you never see him do anything for the town other than collecting taxes and making other people do the work for him. I kinda liked him at first too since I didn't really pay attention to him beyond that he's the mayor and was friends with your grandfather but once I started to pay attention to him I started to dislike him.

Most likely the length of the short, but I feel like the "shorts in the luau soup" trick is pretty well known at this point. Plus, it's not necessarily on display since it sinks into the soup and the governor eats part of it.

You can get multiple! With 1.6 (only on pc right now) you can bring a staircase into mayor Lewis’s home & “use” it in his bedroom, bringing you to a maze where you’ll be able to go to as many times as you like to collect the shorts. (I have a video from a bit ago going into detail of this if you’re interested.) For those without 1.6 (console & mobile) you’ll be able to use a staircase & place it into your pants slot as many times as you like & they will be changed into the shorts. Hope that helps!

Ok... Can people please stop, taking this old man's underwear, aka his most !PRIVATE possession!, as a collectable or to bully him? I get it, he's a not so good mayor but this has gone too far! How would you feel if someone does that to a woman or a person from 'another' age group? You would feel uncompfortable, right? So why do this to an old man? Bad mayor or not, no one deserves this. What is wrong with people? And putting it in the soup? Kids eat that soup! That's sick! He has entrusted the player with his most private matter and this is how they treat it...
