Treasure Planet is one of my favorite movies. It is unfortunate this movie didn't get it's proper due when it first came out. Seriously Musker and Clements were promised to be able to work on it throughout the renaissance, but kept being told, if they just made one more hit, IE Hercules, they can start their passion project. Only for it to be finished and have Spiderman, Attack of the Clones, Die another Day, The Two Towers and The Chamber of Secrets as competition.

@@BraveBladeProductions the marketing for the movie wasn’t great either which is probably why it failed another thing is it was competing against one of the Harry Potter movies at the time

I saw this in theaters the DAY it came out. I was fresh faced and fourteen. I remember being OBSESSED with this. Now I'm a father myself and I see it from a whole new perspective. I still have my Happy Meal toys.

I assume it wasn’t popular due to the era of Pixar where everyone praised those movies at the time while most of Disney movies from this era except Lilo and stitch

My favorite Disney movie will always be Tarzan. But Treasure Planet is an underrated masterpiece.

@@BraveBladeProductions Treasure Planet and Atlantis: The Lost Empire are what I considered Disney trying to appeal to older audiences with the director's having so much passion and ambition put into them.
