I sighed as I removed my glasses and stared at the large map of the world in front of me, my only form of solace were the thoughts running through my head. I rearranged my teak wood book shelf again, it's what I do when I'm restless. My dream was to become an explorer like Vasco De Gama and Marco Polo, I could imagine new untouched lands still to be explored as I sail away from the burdens my parents have placed upon me to get married to a man of aristocratic nature. One day...one day, I'll spread my wings and fly in the sky and become the greatest explorer just like them...but for now...I could do with some jazz music and some saffron tea...

I sat back in my chair and stretched my legs and stiff back out from sitting so long at my studies. As I did, my eyes travelled up to the large world map on the wall. I longed to travel. To see the world as it should be seen. To experience the white water in Colorado, the beating of the unendurable sun in the Australian outback, or to marvel at the aurora borealis in Norway. My mind wandered to the sights that could be seen, how wonderful God's creation is. One day. One day I will go and visit them all, to experience the beauty and the grandeur. I turned my attention back to the sweet classical music playing in the background and found solace in the pitter patter of my little guinea pigs feet as he raced across my floor and jumped for joy. He would be coming with me wherever I went. He was my best friend and companion. Play on my little friend, I thought. You've got a big world ahead of you.

This is my absolute favorite playlist now. The songs have sort of melancholic or nostalgic motions but they dont sound quiet and they sound rather upbeat, but still calming. I don't know how to explain it good enough, but this is the type of music I love. ❤ Also love how canon is in this playlist. Its like a comfort song to me because it gives me a lot of nostalgia. It was the first song I played on piano, plus i loved it so much I memorized it. That upbeat music at the end jumpscared me tho...

In that gloriously tumbling expanse of a desk lay the unfathomable void before me, outstretched. Why must I discover? What is it, the far reaching achievement, that eludes me and yet drives me ever closer to insanity? Finally, now, in this mess, am I to perhaps chart the edges of my own soul? And yet, if it is to be a discovery I wish it to be exceptional. My hope remains in that distant melody named glory and I know somewhere that same composer, destiny or fate or whomever she is, writes the anthem to my victory.

Today my monocle just wouldn't stay in. I have a headache anyway. I cannot resolve the altitude descrepance over the Amatola hills of South Africa. I think some Chopin and a cognac may help. But only a small one as my driver arrives in 45 minutes to take me to the rendevoux in Suez. I hope my appointment with Dr Ismael goes well, even convivial. I hope his artifacts are what they are purported to be.
