Maybe find out the true history of the region, which, incidentally, does not include a people called ‘Palestinians’. The region was only called Palestine as a region, like the Alps or the Sahara, not a country. And when Palestinian passports were issued for a short time before 1948, Jewish inhabitants of the region, who had purchased the swamps nobody else wanted, not stolen them, they were among the first holders of such a passport.

Exactly. Human nature and communism don't mesh. There will always be people who feel the need to hoard for their children's survival, and that is the crux of why communism is just a fairytale idealism. These people don't know how to think critically. It's a lovely idea that we all share and survive in that way. But jeez, the corruption in previous communist countries, and current ones like North Korea was and is staggering. You could and can get anything you want if you have enough money, most people would and do take bribes. The only reason why there are less North Korean defectors atm is because Kim Jong Un threatened the guards on the river, and even with that, some will still risk everything for some bribe money etc.

She did the right thing ignoring the narrative these ignorant people are trying to paint. The tactic they use is to narrow down the conversation, always and constantly focusing on Hamas. That way they can deflect from the context, which is 75 years of history, which in turn helps them deflect from the present slaughter of civilians. One of the tactics employed for controling the narrative is to direct the space in which the conversation is taking place. Like they are trying to do with this young student.
