Helen would’ve won hands down if it was the old version because she was an outstanding candidate but her business plan was poor. Tom won because he is an inventor and that’s a brilliant asset when looking for a new business partner. The right person won, absolutely.

Helen was an employee (an incredibly good one), not an entrepreneur or a business partner, so it would have been crazy if she'd won. Susan would have been a more worthy winner than Helen given that she had a vastly superior business plan, a track record of running her own business and entrepreneurial flair.

Susan ended up going into business with Alan Sugar, and she has become the most successful of his business partners from the Apprentice

honestly thought Helen was going to win, but well done to Tom! an easy to get on with character. Still can't believe it's over for another year already :(

As a candidate Helen was better she won more tasks but her business plan wasn't good, Tom won because of his business plan, it wasn't great but needed tweaking, lord sugar said that himself and that's why he chose Tom to be his business partner if Helen's business plan was better then she would have won but I was surprised I thought Helen was going to win, I think business plans matter more for lord sugar than winning tasks or being a good candidate

@MrSuprise22 That's because Lord Sugar isn't given them a job but going into business with them. If it were the old format then *definately* it would have been a toss up between Helen and Jim, while Tom and Susie would have been fired weeks ago. Plus I don't think the times he did go to the boardroom were really his fault; it was usually down to other people's mistakes.

I think it is fair that Tom won. Jim and Helen seemed to adapt themself to suit what they thought Lord Sugar would like as opposed to what they really wanted to do. Susie and Tom just stuck to their guns, and as Sugar said on "You're Hired", you could possibly combined their two ideas together. Tom had a business already and he needed someone to tweak it and help him push the right ideas. A deserving win - although I wouldn't have minded if Helen won. :)

What an awful predicament for Lord Sugar - having to choose from a really disappointing selection of business plans...and finalists, I felt sorry for him having to choose any of them really, but as always, he chose the 'nice' one.

Well Susan also received investment from Alan, and her and her business are now worth several million, so it makes your comment slightly irrelevant...
