I discovered this the other day, I was spending 900 hilts a day for rare crests which I realized wasn’t giving me a lot at ALL! Just some fading embers which I’d just have to do a couple more elder rifts to make up for it. Rare crests DEFINITELY need a buff

1 rare crest = 1 ATI rune for the f2p player. you will NOT spend your platinum on gem fodder as f2p. you will spend it on 3/5 or 4/5 gems cheap, but you must BUY ALL rare crests AND CHARMS.

@@dantedeloden You can definately spend it on gem fodder as free to play. Getting a 4/5 gem isn't worth it even a little bit as F2P. The resonance is MUCH lower for the cost. You should be prioritising getting some level 1 and 2 gems to level 5 - then considering getting 5 star gems after that point.

i dislike the strategy. while i agree that charms can be a good way to earn plkatinum it is highly dependent on your server and whaledensity. on the other hand the weekly embercap is crucial to get your hands on more gempower / atirunes. so basic math says 7 rare crests to 300 hilts each equal to 2100 hilt per 7 atirunes (+minimal chance to drop a 1*) while you will need 9*charms for 1 skillstone which brings you at max 21xx platin, minus the 500 for making the gem. so yes, basically you are right when considered the serverprice for 1* gems is below 16xx platinum. considering no one buys rare crests anymore it will become impossible for f2p to get to the extra glimmering ember weekly cap. leeching or not, if nobody has em nobody can use em. and all it takes is a rare 1* drop from 1 crest an you are better off with the crest. don't get me wrong, i'd cheer for a crestbuff as well, but i dislike the strategyswitch just because it makes other things more troublesome. we do get 1 charm each day as well, so that is a built in platinum boost. what will you do once a whale hits the 10% for a skill? your charms won't sell as much as before. it's just a question of when. not IF. a few can do it, but everyone doing it is a bad idea.

If anything, I'm stopping buying the regular gems for hilts. The price is atrocious and you can still get some by playing in a 4 party, which is something you end up doing farming dungeons.

I've been buying out both and have been breaking even with the immortal hilt income. Not sure how much lower it is for shadows. 70% of charms only sell for 1500 on my server though.

I buy all charms, some reforge stones, keys and rare crests on side. I was lucky and got a 3/5 charm multi shot, rain and vengeance so I’m hesitant to try and roll for additional skills the only others I may need are daring swing, chakram so I sell my skill stones for platinum now I’m at 40k close to buying 3 star haunting for my DH

They need to raise the max value on skill stones. The market is skewed to the buyers favor when a 2 skill/class stone is worth the same as a 4 skill/class stone.

There are 4skills skill stones about 2k platinum on my realm. If you are lucky, you get 2skills grand charm. 2skills stones cost about 900-1000 platinum, 3skills about 1200-1800 depends on skills. And what about auction fee?

I can't seem to see the spreadsheet link. Also, is that assuming you can sell all your skill stones at 2.5k plats? Is that a real thing? I had to undercut my 5/classes skill stone to a measly 1.2k which netted me 882 plats. Minus 500 plats to extract the skill stone netted me 300 plats for 900 hilts. tl;dr it's still a gamble. The base 500 plats cost to extract the skill stone is what really makes or breaks the deal if you are not lucky enough to get sellable skills on your charm.

This completely depends on server Skill Stone economy and average GP price. I ran these numbers for my server: roughly 1200 Plat/GP, most Skill Stones sell for 1500. From there accounting 15% tax and the extraction cost, each Skill Stone (equivalent to 900 Hilts) is worth ~0.64 GP, compared to ~0.55 GP per 3 Rare Crests, also worth 900 Hilts. The conclusion is this: if you can sell Skill Stones and get pure profit greater than 1 GP (i.e. the ratio of Skill Stone profit to Plat/GP > =1) then it's probably fair to ignore Rare Crests, else I'd recommend at least buying them from time to time as the runes will be helpful for crafting duplicates down the line as well.

ive grinded nearly 200k platinum since launch, i sniped a 4/5 phoenix ashes for 67k, and a 4/5 chip for 51k.( these prices are INSANELY LOW for my server prices, i keep eye on the market alot) and for a mere 50 material, these GOOD GEMS now give 180 resonance at rank 2, and chip is especially good for me since im necro. DO NOT use your plat to buy 1* to use as fodder. buy rare crests EVERY DAY for hilts, learn all ways to gain hilts daily, and CRAFT 5 1*s weekly as your fodder, and the 16 or so legendary crests u get a month, pray for luck. but the platinum needs max value, and i CERTAINLY GOT MAX VALUE OUT OF 118K PLATINUM LOL also with the rare crest method, you can CRAFT any dupes you need for the 1*s and 2*s u REMAIN using. as 100% f2p, i have rank 2 4/5 chip, rank 2 4/5 phoenix, and rank 1 2/5 jade i found. i also crafted 2/5 echo and sold for 47k. playing f2p means playing the long game, and REALIZE you wont be getting 5/5s. but occasionally whales throw a 4/5 on market for SUPER CHEAP, and you want to make sure u have the plat to buy it the SECOND the auction goes live.

Veiled is a p2w, he will never understand how should you spend hilts as a f2p.I have 3 skill stones, all with 1 stats for char, never sold since 1 month, on minimum, and I've spent 1500 plat to turn them into skill stones, this video not for me.

Weekly cap is easily attainable by farming elder rift in public. Find party and ull hop on some ppls who put crests. Even 10 leg crests sometimes. U can also save them with friends and do them together. Try to queue for elder on monday its a good day for that.

Rare crests are so useless right now. Nobody is gonna spend embers to trade runes cause you want the leg crest. So were all sitting with 1 million runes in our inventory which we cant use cause we dont have enough ati runes. Also they need to at least do a pity drop for rare crests cause im pretty sure ive burned through more than 50 rare crests with absolutely 0 leg gem drops.

Did you also take into account the free charm you get from the 2nd daily activity reward and the weekly 1st kill reward? from my experience, you can get 22+ charms per week from rewards and maxing out the hilts vendor, netting around 10 skill stones per month.

On an average market of 1500 platinum return value per skill stone, that is roughly 180k platinum per year, assuming a f2p account never takes a day off from the grind.

I think it was 2014 when they had 14 million monthly subscriptions with World of Warcraft and they dumbed that game down so much with simple rotations and start their pay to win. They went from 210 billion a month down to 60 billion and they survived. They're not hurting for money.

mehh, charms in my server only sells for less than 1k plats. take note the 15% tax, so youll gell around 600 plats profit excluding extract cost. best way is to still buy rare crests and craft 1 star gems unbound then sell them in auction.

There are plenty of hilts to get both crests and charms off even the free battle pass. Between the leg gem drop and rune drops off doing rifts with crests, there's plenty of value in regards to crafting for yourself. Plus I've noticed people leave parties when players don't contribute crests for rifts.

Ye i rarely buy the rare crests, sadly they are pretty much what i rely on for gems as a battles pass only player. The lego crests are here and there pretty much nothing. Rare crest should get a buff they give pretty much nothing, buffing them 50% will be barely noticable in power or they can add runes without a crest for the elder rift. It won't give the ftp playes too much catching potential.

Thanks, you've now made this no more viable of a way to get platinum than selling normal gems. My server was buying charms for 1300/charm and now it's down to 600/charm which -500 Plat to extract the stone, this is now netting 100 plat/charm. So even worse than gems, great job

Used to be worth on my server, have been doing this since release. Now it's barely worth it, stones sell AT MOST for 1000, most of the time it's selling for 800 if you are lucky

Yes, sadly, the market here has now much lower prices for stones, etc...that means it becomes actually harder for ftp players to SELL things at high prices...on the other hand, we can buy much cheaper too..but that is not making as much money as before, now... Anyway, on top of that, creating stones always costs 500 plats too...if you sell it at just 700-800 now, that is hardly creating quickly (even less easily) money....still a bit, but largely less..With a lot of dedication in the process. Selling jewels is way easier, just trying to do 1 or 2 hidden lairs by day...But of course, every bit is important in 'ftp', so must try it as much as possible too..

i don't think this works - charms upgrades are random at : class, move,value - need to pay to make skill stone , and infuse gives one random skill to another charm these 2 days in sescheron server people complained noone buy charms, also, if people do this, there will be more offer than demand, making this method more worthless if i'm missing something or something is wrong feel free to correct me

You'd be wrong. I've only posted 3, 2 of them sporadic buffs, 1 was 3 buffs for a monk. All 3 sold. If you need plat' this will work man.

im afraid this is completely wrong. ill explain why. first off you arent f2p, so u have no idea however I AM and i will explain this: you MUST but all rare crests as a f2p. but YOU CAN ALSO BUY all charms too. which I DO. but the rare crests MUST BE PURCHASED. 1 rare crest = 1 ATI rune, so 2100 hilts = 1* fodder as f2p. GUARANTEED, there is no exception, this is 100% guaranteed. then any gems you get to drop in addition are ADDITIONAL profit. now on the charms, THEY ARE INSANE VALUE HOWEVER to find 9 charms, 8 to dust 1 base for 1 skillstone, is 900 hilts, AND 500 platinum, the average sales price is 1750 on my server, so 900 hilts = 1200 profit. BUT charms are NOT common, you have a chance of rolling 3 on the daily side. and 1 on refresh side. this of course does not happen every time. and since this is the case, you CAN INDEED buy both. but YOU MUST buy all rare crest. its the only way for f2p to earn fodder at somewhat a reasonable rate. because you WILL NOT SPEND your platinum on fodder. ive so far grinded over 150k platinum, bought 4/5 chip for 50k, 100k platinum stilll, resonance just shy of 500. now with this said, anyone who CANNOT buy both, i suggest you look into ways to earn hilts properly. F2P are FORCED to buy all rare crests for ATI, 5 keys for legacy, and charms are cheap enough its a MUST. do NOT BUY GEMS FROM HILT TRADER, do your daily 6 cap hidden lair, and 12 cap 4man gems (sell the 12 on market EVERYDAY too). also do not buy the mystery legendary and caar invig gem. 1600 hilts for 1 1*, is a COMPLETE WASTE when 5 rare crests (1500 hilts) is almost 1 1* already, with 5 chances at rolling a 1* drop.

First off, it sounds like it was not completely wrong because the video literally tells you to go and buy charms for better value which is simply mathematically correct. Second, the reason I mention to not buy rare crests is because of how terrible of a value they are. They might buff them in the future and so I suggest saving. But I also add an addendum in the video mentioned F2P could still want them to progress a bit. So you clearly did not watch the video.

@@VeiledShot thats what im explaining, the rare crests are the ONLY value in f2p. but charms DO give profit. except charms u only get a 3/3 weekly, and POSSIBLY refreshers twice a day, which is 1.as a f2p player. i grinded over 150k platinum selling gems and skillstones, but when it came down to buying a 4/5 chip for 51k (lucky) and 4/5 phoenix 67k (lucky and this happened tonight), you WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH MATERIALS to upgrade them if you are not buying rare crests max EVERY DAY, earning ATI runes, etc. now i do agree rare crests should be cheaper. but hilt retention is actually very high. and u CAN buy both charms and rare crests daily. saying i didnt watch the video is by far your worst mention. i watched the entire thing, im giving you ACTUAL EVIDENCE from a f2p players experience, who STILL PLAYS to this day. if i had not bought EVERY RARE CREST EVERY DAY OF THIS GAMES LAUNCH, i would have NOTHING to upgrade gems. and as f2p, the REAL GOAL is to play the long game. u MUST buy rare crests, MAX. any f2p player. just read what im describing. a simple 50 dollar buy, in a 20 and 30 dollar bundle, grants you more fodder in 3 minutes, than it does for f2p in 2 months.

"you are spending your hilts wrong" thats COMPLETELY WRONG to state this title. i watched your video on u playing a f2p player. and i admire your dedication. but HEED MY WORDS, buy the crests daily. DO NOT FRET on this. or u will struggle to upgrade your gems. max your 12 4-man gems for platinum (only way to earn reasonable platinum daily) and get the 6 SB hidden lair gems on the alt. thats the best advice i can run you on f2p, since the games so drastically different.

@@VeiledShot the long game in f2p MUST utilize rare crests for gem materials to upgrade the gems you purchase with earned platinum you gain from 12 daily gems farmed a day, any skill stones you MAY make which is usually roughly 1-2 a week. as free to play you have NO ACCESS to materials besides rare crests. theres only about 16 legendary crests available per month. think about it, you get 5 rare crests a day, 4 at hilt trader, 1 at elder rift. thats 5, so in 1 week, you earn 5 gem material(not including when rare crest DROPS a 1*). in 8 weeks since launch thats 40 material. plus legendary crest rewards, i was able to buy 2 4/5 gems. and both are at rank 2. i also got a blood soaked jade soulbound 2/5, which is better than a rank 4 berserkers eye, but as f2p, you are SO STRAPPED in gem materials, (this is coming from experience im letting you know) you just dont have enough to actually reach thresholds you will need to hit over long periods of time WITHOUT USING THEM. also if im using them wrong, but you arent f2p. how are YOU going to tell me IM WRONG when the games designed this way? and i HAVE been doing it. like i said on your f2p char, PLEASE utilize the rare crests. u will have plenty of hilts to buy charms too, but every day you MUST BUY rare crests, 5 keys, and charms (charms really arent expensive). but rare crests come first due to the fact that 12 gem selling daily is at least on my server 25k plat a week if you do it every day. this isnt some way of talking DOWN to you, i just need you to know that f2p has a serious gem material problem. we dont earn fodder like you do when you spend 30 bucks here and there. im honestly trying to improve your daily progress on your f2p. i watch your videos, i love discussing the game with you, but ive been dealing with this for months. just test it yourself
