“You Reap What You Sow” Prince Andrew And Harry SIDELINED By Buckingham Palace From Royal Role

Buckingham Palace has made provisions to prevent Prince Andrew and Prince Harry from standing-in for the King.
Both remain counsellors of state - members of the royal family who can officially carry out duties if the sovereign is unwell or abroad. However, the King discreetly made provision to sideline them in an act instigated shortly after he ascended the throne.
The prospect of the King being treated in hospital and the Prince of Wales halting his official duties to care for his wife, Kate, has raised questions over which Counsellors of State might be needed to step in.
Buckingham Palace has said that it did not anticipate Counsellors of State being necessary when the King is treated for an enlarged, benign prostate next week.

Abdominal sergery( cutting through the abdominal wall ) takes 10-14 days in hospital and 12 weeks recovery no matter what the cause of the surgery or who too! People sometimes just need to stop! She has asked for privacy!

You are correct in that abdominal surgery is considered to be major surgery and does take time to recover from. However, it has been many, many years since the average person who has abdominal surgery stays in hospital for that long. The length of time the person is in hospital usually relates to the complexity of the surgery, any pre and/or post operative complications and the patient's speed of recovery. The rest of the recovery takes place at home.

@@DeborahWohlfeld It was my understanding that the change he made at that time was to add people (like Princess Anne) to the Counsellors of State but that this is a new mandate specifically forbidding Harry and Andrew to serve as Councellors of State even though they're still on the list. I could be wrong but that's what I'm getting from these recent reports. Only yesterday it was being reported that they were next in line after William.

Hey, Dr. Mike, here in the US I pay $300/month for the privilege of being seen by a doctor PLUS in the US we have something called a “deductible” requiring that we spend a certain amount of our own money per year (in my case, $7,000) before insurance pays for anything. I had a serious injury to my leg last summer requiring complicated (open) surgery and pins and plates. It was done as OUTPATIENT. In an afternoon. I am THRILLED when anyone gets appropriate medical care. So I’m nothing but glad for Princess Catherine’s ability to have access to high quality, expensive, medical care. My point is that you think the NHS is inadequate, well so is the private health insurance scam in the US. People in the US and UK (and ALL) people deserve better.

It's time parliament takes the decision of who is in the LOS and all other royal roles below the monarch and their direct heir into their own hands, obviously the monarch has the option to ignore the will of the people and every bit of that has been for personal reasons rather than the best interest of the country, unfit people, that do unfit deeds need immediate removals. I'm sick to death of hearing it's his brother, and it's his son no matter how horrific their behavior is. This needs to permanently be in the control of non-family members to eliminate this mess from ever happening again, these roles are too important to be left in the hands of a weak, unwilling, or simply indecisive family member in the future. imo.

Any time Abdominal surgery is done, It is a must to follow ever precaution to make sure patient is well enough to leave hospital. It sounds like to me that they had to do open surgery. Any time if far any reason with abdominal surgery, have to go back in far any reason, the outcome is not good. I am praying far the Princess of Wales, every thing goes good, and she is Home with her children and Husband when she is able to do so. I live here in USA, They always keep patients with open abdominal surgery at least 10 to 14 days, and longer if needed. I know millions of people the world over are praying far The peoples Princess, hope she can feel the LOVE of all the prayers going up far her, also praying far her children, husband, parents, siblings, and all the Royal Family, My own Grandmother was English Rose who married American GI after WW2.

Most people are probably dismissed 2 days later! However it's difficult and painful recovering at home, and royals aren't subjected to a self serve recovery.

I can't stand H and M but I do think this is a "darned if you do and darned if you don't" situation. They would be accused of trying to get the limelight if they did do something to indicate they were concerned over the King and the Princess (Which I would totally believe!) but they are also accused for NOT doing anything. This appears to be a no win situation for them. It will be interesting to see what M comes up with! Since I am not narcissistic, manipulative, or conniving, I can't imagine what they will do with this one! I do think they need to be off the Royal website though and H certainly off the list of counselors of state. (from an American)

I’m certainly no fan of Harry & his wife. What they’ve done is unforgivable. I never want to see them back here in England. I do agree they’re damned if they do & damned if they don’t though. However, that’s a problem of their own making. This wouldn’t be an issue if they’d not behaved so abominably in the first place. Also agree about them needing to be taken off the Royal website. It baffles me as to why they’re still there. If the Royals have taken steps to prevent Harry from being in any position of authority as councillor of state, then why not just take his & her name off altogether? It creates mixed messages.

Dr Mike makes no sense. Why would the PoW want to stay in a hospital away from her beloved family and comfortable residence if she didn’t have to? How can he state what her stay should be as fact if he doesn’t even know what she has? His comment is completely inappropriate.

The comment about Catherine’s hospital stay doesn’t make sense for two reasons: first like the presenter’s pointed out, we don’t know what procedure she had. And secondly she’s not in an NHS hospital; which is a good thing, because her in an NHS hospital would hugely frustrate that hospital’s ability to operate normally.

Abdication would be better. This way she could’ve lent her wisdom to Charles in his first few years. Plus the whole wouldn’t be as overwhelming when ones parent dies.
